Gerber is making Toronto look like a Juggernaut!:lol

You KNOW Emery is holding back the biggest of smiles on the bench right now.

9.02 GAA and 0.571 SV% for Vokoun up until now, against the Blackhawks nonetheless. Wake up, I have you in my other pool :(

"Leafs Nation" is going to be tough to stomach tomorrow if this scoreline holds up. I'm really not looking forward to it. If they win on Saturday as it'll probably get city councillors to start planning the cup parade route.

BTW Forza, Euro '08 qualifiers are being played Saturday and Wednesday, and the Italy games are gonna be on TLN and Setanta. Better hope they get more out of these games then the one point from last month :lol (don't think it'll be an issue though).

:lol True dude but I'm just glad that Quinn is gone and now there's a coach who will play you based on what you're doing NOW and not what you DID circa 1989.

P.S. Italy will be inspired by the Leafs performance....

Get used to more games like this and not from only the Leafs. The gap has closed this season with the top teams getting weaker and the bottom ones improving.

LOL at the Leafs vs Sens score, this is the exact reason I did not want to sign Gerber. Brilliant one game, absolutely awful the next.

You know, this Ron as a ref clip was pretty cool, it gave me a different view of just how much a ref has to do/put up with.

The pressure to not miss something/make a wrong call /stay out of the way looks crazy...

respect to refs for sure.

Yeah, the McClean segment was fantastic I thought...props to Colin Campbell for giving him the invite after they damn near came to blows during the playoffs. :lol

Because Raycroft has proven to be amazingly consistent?

Yeah, I thought it was really neat too. I'd like to see something like that for a "real" ref and maybe a little more indepth.

Damn it all the good guys are losing tonight. :( The Flames had better destroy the Oilers to make up for this.

Jordon Staal is dressed for Pittsburgh. Interesting. I thought they'd give'm some preseason love and send him to the AHL for at least a couple months first.

I'm jealous that the Nucks landed Luongo, but Bert was such a Wing killer the last few years...eh, who knows.

Vancouver PK was great today...plus the Wings PP was awful, which is rare. Hasek starting out shaky as usual.

Nice game by the Leafs. Of course, Ottawa playing relatively slow throughout most of it helped out too, but Toronto really got their game together and played consistently well throughout the entire game. Raycroft was pretty decent too, though from what I've seen from him so far, he has trouble recovering from shots - definitely an area he needs to improve on, since his positioning is really good. Wellwood's continuing to play well and Tucker's as consistent as ever, as is of course Sundin. Great game for Kilger too - it looks like he can continue where he left off last year no problem. Good to see Suglobov scratched (I'm assuming he was a healthy one) after the huge risks he took in the last game.

Um...message to Kingpen-You know that Kolzig-for-MAF trade? Just playin', man. Time to switch back.

GIGGY-NEIDS SET THE PRECEDENT! BLAME CALDER

Holy crap , 7-4 Chicago.

The only way this day can become more hilariously awesome is if the Isles destroy Phoenix. Wang can go yell in the camera saying how he told you mother****ers that he knew what he was doing.

Penguins win a home opener for the first time in 6 years.

The Pens need to start controlling the puck more, though, or else they're going to get pounded on a lot this year. The Flyers put up 40 shots to the Pens 20-some. That isn't going to work for long. The Pens were lucky enough to score on a few counter-attacks and fast breaks, but there weren't a whole lot of sustained attacks.

Our defense got lucky a few times, as well, with a bunch of missed passes right in front of the net.

Jordan Staal looked pretty damn good - which is nice.

Oh yeah, Marc-Andre Fleury was pretty amazing, as well.

Man Nashville, 7 goals? To Chicago?? That one guy who is a Preds fan needs to come in here and explain this.

Well Chicago is a different team, anyone who even thought about filing for arbitration got their asses shipped out.

I think people are shocked because Nashville was a high seed playoff team in a lot of preseason picks. Chicago definitely got better but when you finished as poorly as they did last season you can pretty much only go up.

Well, it looks like the Leafs aren't as bad as everyone said they were going to be and the Sens learned that the hard way :( Atleast Havlat is still amazing, 4 friggin points his first game in a Hawks jersey.

8 - 6 now, atleast Nashville made a game out of it at the end.

Oh and St. Louis is now beating San Jose, today is the day of the underdog.

The REAL Mister Angry Face with a 40-SAVE SHUTOUT! He looked so sturdy in net tonight. :( :( :( PLEASE DON'T MOVE THE PENGUINS OUT OF PITTSBURGH.
