Credit where it's due. The Canucks are doing a lot better than most expected.
But that probably makes it hurt even more for Nucks fans. So close yet so far... or something like that.
 
i can't be anything but proud of what my team has done this year, i cannot say at christmas i expected them to make 3rd and hit up the second round. so if they bow out here i'll be a happy guy regardless. i certainly hope they can pull it through but it's obviously grim right now. either way though, go canucks go!
 
someone, some where is reporting that global edmonton some how found out that ryan smyth has signed a 8 year 40 million dollar contract with the islanders.

They had like 3.5 million in cap room IIRC. If they ditched a FA or 2 that's definitely possible.

and in the rangers game it was NO goal. When the puck isn't 100% confirmed over the line it is no goal. Lundqvist is GOD!

They played a pretty good first, got some breaks in the 2nd, then got lazy and shit the bed in the 3rd. They deserved to lose.

Where the hell are the Sedins? Linden should not be your best non-Luongo player (yea, yea, Morrison had a pretty good game too)

sedins had points yesterday? And Linden hasn't been that good as people says. He is overrated.
 
I don't know what to say. I'm pretty devastated. To lose a 2-0 lead in the 3rd with Luongo minding the net is shameful.

The series could have been 2-2. Instead, 3-1. That's just.... wow. *meekly waves Canucks flag* Let's do this, boys.

All I could imagine after last night's game was Turco drunkenly calling Modano, screaming "You couldn't score on THAT TEAM?" and hanging up. This would be followed by him sitting in a corner crying with Pacific Division banners wrapped around him.

That wasn't a mistake.

So there was one good thing to take away from yesterday: Luongo being nominated for the Hart, Vezina, and Lester B. Pearson. And he is actually a true candidate for each, unlike some (*cough*Lundqvist*hack*) goalies.

I'm having a planet earth movie night so I'll be missing most of it. Thouhg I have a feelng my friends might just want to see 1 episode and then watch the game for the rest of the night. :lol

LOL. Just finished watching disc 1 of planet earth and watched the last 10 minutes of the game. Nice win by Ottawa! :D What an awesome evening.

Would you care to trade Luongo's 5-6 record in the playoffs for *cough*Lundqvist*hack*'s 6-2? Their other numbers are nearly identical.

Another solid win. Again, Ottawa could have collapsed after that string of dumb penalties led to the first goal and then at the tip-in from Pandolfo, but they stifled New Jersey's counterattack and walked away with this one (with some help from Brodeur uncharacteristically shitting the bed). If the Sens can keep shutting down the EGG line and everyone contributes like they've been doing (Spezza blocking shots for the second game in a row...never thought I'd see the day), this one'll be done on Saturday and Lou can fire himself. Again.

I don't give a shit about the Rangers. I don't think any Canuck fans do (besides Templaer, apparently, and some nuts on forums that would obsess about anything). I was just giving SantaC a hard time since he has such a hard on for Lundqvist (and comparing him to Luongo).

Oh, and Mike made a good point. Weird side-step.
 
Hopefully they can keep the momentum up as the 3rd starts...the last 5 minutes have been great. Phew...getting that one before the period ended...

the rangers are one of my favorite teams left in the playoffs (unfortunately buffalo is the other one), and i've had henrik lundqvist as a goalie in my hockey pool for the last two years in a row. i was watching the game where malik scored that shootout winner live on centre ice, and aside from buffalo, they're easily the most watched east team for me. i like the rangers, especially for their crowd salute and MSG's awesome crowd.

hearing a rangers fan compare lundqvist's stats to luongo's because you got to play the easiest ****ing third seed in the history of the NHL is a joke. don't mistake my calling out your bullshit as some hatred against a team which is comprised of exactly zero players from the one that beat mine when i was in elementary school.
