Mike is Blinded by his Leaf Hate. Leave him be. THe 7th game was definately not called like the rest fo teh series. That actually worked in Edmonton's favour tho. IMO

Yes, my Leaf hate is obviously blinding my view the the Edmonton vs Carolina series when I'm repeatedly stated that the 7th game was "definately not called like the rest fo teh series".

The only blind person in this thread is you after the repeated flash bombs I'm bombarded you and fuji with ;)

It's good to see Theodore workin hard in the offseason..

a sports personality dating a celeb slutty? SHOCK!
He's already with someone and they've been together for a damn while, and he just had a kid with her 3 months ago and he's still with her... so yeah.. that's exactly why he's been traded.

what does this have anything to do with his HOckey CAreer?

Brodeur was banging his sister in law when he won the cup.

Brings too much attention in the locker room and around the team. If Theodore was still playing for the Habs right now, the media would be trying to get interviews with Gainey, the coach and most of the Habs players and it would be a scandal, Hockey is a religion here, anything an hockey player does, the media jumps on it.

So when you've got a player like Theodore doing stupidities like this, it brings too much attention to the team for absolutely nothing so you get rid of him, so yeah... thank god Gainey.

That's why he will be the greatest goalie of all time. :lol

I just assumed manics and him were on opposite sides and arguing. :lol

I think what the Canadiens problem was that Theodore is pretty well know to be a guy who likes to party.

Which in itself isn't a problem ... the Oilers of the 80s were known to party it up too.

The problem is, his performance on-ice stunk, and that brings your on-ice issues into the limelight.

A lot of people feel Theodore signed a big, fat contract and is now content just living the good life and being an average goalie.

Just got back from the celebration in Raleigh... good times! They were giving away 18,000 commemorative pint glasses, but the line was so long that we gave up on that and had some drinks back at the car. :) Glen Wesley had the Stanley Cup with him (finally!) in the parade, and one of his kids tossed me one of the little Stanley Cup pucks they were giving away, so that was cool. Berger got an especially loud cheer from the crowd when he was introduced on the stage, which I hope was gratifying after having a great season then seeing Ward get the Conn Smythe.

So yeah, I usually don't post in the NHL threads, but I'd never seen the Stanley Cup in person before, and being just a few feet away from it in the midst of thousands of celebrating fans was a great experience. :D

edit: The other highlight of the night was my friend playing the entire Whalers victory tune on his car horn after the ceremony. Brass Bonanza!

Did you actually follow the thread? If you did, you would have seen that Michael H. Works actually was arguing with me, even though he agreed with me in some bizarre idiotic way.

Well, I'll clarify because I couldn't comprehend how everyone was missing everyone else's point.

He agreed on you on the point you made that was right: That officiating in Game 7 was different from previous standards.

He disagreed with you on the point you made that was wrong: That the different officiating was what made Game 7 entertaining.

O rly? So you don't agree that the fact there wasn't 15 powerplays in the game, and the flow went back and forth up and down the ice didn't make the game more entertaining? Had they stopped the flow and called penalty after penalty (as they did all year long) the game would have sucked ass.

back and forth FLOW? wtf? i saw Edmonton trying to go up ice and having the puck dumped back in their zone after they crossed center for most of the game. The game will be much better once the ref start calling the penalties consistantly and players start to get use to them.

You just closed your eyes when Carolina brought the puck in? I guess they scored on a few on those dump ins? They were only dumping the puck out the last few minutes of the game trying to protect the 2-1 lead and then got the empty net goal.
