The wild are screwed.

Anaheim has definitely played better, but is it just me, or have the wild gotten a LOT of BS penalties this series? :/

Why is it that the dirtiest teams are the ones that always get away with playing dirty? :/

Every time the Wild start to show some momentum, a BS penalty gets called on the Wild, like the one from the other game where Boogaard and one of the anaheim players ran into each other, and Boogaard got called for a penalty.

It's so annoying.

My mistake. Let's just pound every player into the boards, regardless of whether they have the puck or not. Then maybe they can set each other on fire and **** cats

LOL give me a break, he was right next to and may as well had the puck. i can understand if the play was away but he right in the scrum, so don't be a whiner.

Another multi OT? Bring it on! (I have no school tomorrow :D )

Turco's been awesome in this game, if the Stars were playing any team other than the nucks or the flames, I'd be cheering for them.

Even if that were the case they're on the ropes because their special teams are playing like shit.

canucks owned that game from the mid way point of the second on. perhaps we've figured out the dallas defense?

anyways huge win on the road.

Multiple screams of happiness up and down my block. :lol

Rope-a-dope in the first and second, own the third and OT. I can live with that. Tack on another textbook 'shitting the bed' performance from Calgary's Least™ and it's been a damn good day. :D

Hey Barrage, you may want to ask Zubov if Linden showed up tonight. unf unf unf unf

lol. 2 goals in 7 periods=figured out the defense?

10 excellent chances over 2 and a half periods says be quiet. sorry, but your team was completely on their heels after that 10 minute mark. end of story.

Gettin'r'done.

Strong third period and we just kept that momentum into the over-time.

p.s. Wow at Calgary's 15 shots to Detroits 50ish.

Good times!

Special mention to Jan Bulis for being my dark horse go-to guy pick; Hansen and IKEA line for being absolutely ON FIRE. Luongo for making HUGE saves early on to keep us in it.

Pyatt with his first playoff goal as a Canuck with Linden and Smokes! Don't know about anyone else but that play led to a completely unexpected goal.

Special mention to Calgary for once again "shitting the bed" and managing 15 shots on net total :lol :lol :lol - great penalty take...killing guys!

Wild in deep trouble right now, Anaheim looks scaaarrry.

GO CANUCKS GO!

Yeah that's for sure. I was half distracted thinking about how much longer until the Swedes would get back on and if the screwed up line matchup on their previous shift was going to give them a chance on the ice without the best 5 opposing checkers... and them *wham* out of nowhere ... Py-y-y-y-att scores.

Holy damn, I left to go to my ball hockey game right after Stu Barnes scored and it seemed like the Stars were dominating! Vancouver ends up outshooting Dallas 12-11 in that 2nd, and 15-4 in the 3rd. What the hell happened?

I remember at the begining of the 2nd there were 3 or 4 sure bet goals stopped by Luongo. The guy is too good.

Man, the Canucks are going to have to start playing better if they want to progress further into the playoffs... just looking at Anaheim right now is frightening. If they can barely scrape by Dallas (and this series is far from over) then how are they going to do it in the second round ... assuming they make it?

the problem with dallas is they have a stifling defense that's hard to get around and a goaltender to back them up. if you can figure them out though and get shots on turco, they don't have much offense to come and hit you back with.

Canucks: 5 Periods 0 Goals

We get out shot but at least we ****ing score something
Canucks: 3 games 2 wins

We score 2 goals, but at least we...

OH WAIT YOUR TEAM HASN'T EVEN SCORED 2 GOALS YET

If this goes to Quad OT I will cry
well it didn't go to quad OT, but something tells me that didn't affect your reaction :D

PS: Linden elbowing Nagy was evening up Nagy diving to take a penalty and then kneeing our goalie in the ****ing head

now you wait one minute, the calgary sparks have scored two goals. both of them came on the powerplay too. its just that.. it was.. different games

Wilson marched off the bench on Friday frustrated by his team's loss to the Nashville Predators and seemingly angered by the bad blood spilled in the process.

He vented by bluntly excusing himself from a mandatory post-game media conference.

From a distance, like here in the NHL on TSN studio, Wilson's snub seemed mildly amusing. However, the league wasn't amused and today informed the veteran coach his disregard for policy would not go unpunished.

The Sharks have been disciplined, which unofficially translates into a fine for an undisclosed amount of money for ignoring postseason protocol.
:lol

Let's not forget Nagy taking multiple shots with his stick at Luongo's glove when he held the puck and also when Nagy kicked him in the arm in the same play, I think Nagy maybe needed a bit more than just the elbow from Linden.

The Canucks-Dallas game was ****ing boring.
Can both teams lose the series? (and subsequently have both the Sharks and Preds advance?).

so pumped for the preds game tomorrow. we really need to pull a split outta SJ and it'd be great to get that taken care of in the first game :)

That Nagy kick to Luongo's forearm was ****ing bullshit. Cowan should have lawn-darted his ass a la Kevin Nash to Rey Mysterio. That said - we'll take the win. Again.

It's pretty much a chess match.

You know it's going to be long and drawn out with teams even on both sides and similar playstyles but the outcome is victory regardless.

Neither does Vancouver :lol

Anyone here doing "Quest for the Cup" game and have an extra Joe Sakic?

I have a lot of (400) doubles I would trade for him.

Dallas has done a great job of shutting Vancouver down offensively for the most part, because that's the level of field they want the game to be played on. Dallas' highest scorer this season was Mike Ribiero, and I don't think he even got 60 points?

Vancouver conversely has both Sedins, Naslund, and a high scoring offense in Bieksa, Salo, and Ohlund. They're not an offensive juggernaut, but I'm pretty sure we were in the upper half of the league in scoring in 2007.

If Vancouver were playing some bullshit team like Atlanta right now instead of a defensively stacked Dallas, I'm pretty sure anyone with a Vancouver forward or defenseman in their hockey pool would be a lot happier right now.

And Pochacho, you can kindly STFU. I remember when you were trying to pass yourself as a Canucks fan last year. Thankfully you already have a team that's knocked out of the playoffs to cheer for, so you don't have to concern yourself with how far Vancouver advances :)

I think it's time for a new avatar to commemorate Trevor Linden's elbow of justice tonight.

Monday at the Tank will end up a bloodbath, be it on the ice or in the stands. The fan reactions on other forums are downright evil. Sharks and Predators fans are going to have at it.

Perhaps this only looks bad since we're not used to anything close to rivalries here south of the border. Doesn't stop this series from being one of the ugliest I've seen in years.

I just hope the game ends up cleaner than the last two, regardless of who wins.

No, bottom third actually. Heck, Colorado in the same division had 50 more goals in the season. That's pretty much why a lot of focus is on Luongo for getting Vancouver to where they are at right now.

Vancouver had trouble scoring against a lot of teams...IMO it wouldn't be that smart to pick a Canuck forward for a hockey pool. Smart to pick Luongo...or for Vancouver to win a series (they don't need to outscore the other team by a million to win a series), but not for a forward to score a lot of goals. That's a compliment too, to some of the scoring depth Vancouver has...well from what I've seen anyways. I've gotten the impression that the Canucks win a game with very few goals to their credit, but these goals come from seemingly unlikely sources quite often. I could be wrong, you've watched more Canucks games than I have. But that combination makes for bad picks.

You're not wrong. We've got a fairly decent breadth of scoring. Which is a big reason we had such an extreme turn around from being a below .500 back in November or December, to argurably the best team in the league after the Christmas break.

The Sedins are our only real source you could say we rely on. Otherwise we rely on everyone working hard and for that bulk as a whole to contribute, regardless who it's from.

Anyhow, back to the game, Naslund continues to impress.

While he still isn't showing 6 million dollar skill... He sure as hell is showing priceless heart and deterimination.

The hits and dives-for-the-puck are almost borderlining on a little hard-core. I saw him leap for one puck that was already cleared out of our zone and only in an effort to get it to our man at the Dallas blue line. It made me pause and basically think that at this rate, he'll be leaping to touch an iced puck with no one near just to save an extra 1 second on the clock.

He said 2007 where Vancouver improved significantly and definitely finished in the top half in scoring of at least the conference if not the league. I know they finished ahead of teams like Anaheim, Dallas, and Minnesota, but remained pretty modest in scoring.

What does this mean exactly?

Vancouver, for sure, didn't have a problem scoring during their Eastern Conference swings in 2007 with almost 4 goals a game. Then again the East has shitty goaltending and defense compared to the West.

I've actually got both Sedins in my pool (needed 6 western conf forwards total). I know they won't have a very good PPG pace since games will be low-scoring (responsible D is amplified during the playoffs in the west, and the goaltenders are all stellar [except maybe Nashville-SJ]), but I'm hoping that the Canucks go deep. In that case they'd be the only sure-thing. They've had punctuated moments of brilliance in every game.

I think the refs will take this one over. No more liberties for either team, call anything that's close. It's really the only way to diffuse the situations.

Anyway, the Vancouver game was awesome. I don't know how anyone can watch a good old-fashioned goalie duel and call it "boring" (maybe it's just that as a Sens fan I've forgotten what real goaltending looks like....sorry Emery). Though as others have pointed out, 2 goals/game ain't gonna cut it against a team like Anaheim.

Wish CBC would show or stream the Nashville/SJ game instead of the Devils (I'm sans cable at the moment). Now THAT's coma-inducing hockey.
