Official Opoona Media & Hype Thread!

So I finally popped this in and I must say I was hooked. Has anyone beaten it yet? I am just trying to figure out how far in the game I am.

Its good, its fun, its unique, its a rpg, its OPOONA!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah... I am opposite. I was playing Baroque and then got pulled by Opoona. It reminds me of a crazy cross of like Harvest Moon (with its friendships and minigames/jobs galore) and a rpg. Its awesome.

I'm in some dungeon thats all sandy and I'm stuck :( Theres sand holes that you can fall through) but I have no idea how to proceed.

i'm currently getting repeatedly owned by a particularly nasty fight. i load the game, run to the battle, lose horribly (again), and throw the controller in disgust. i imagine i need to do something else for a while, but there are *pride* issues involved here.

re: the sandy dungeon. nothing too tricky there. it took me some time, but it's nothing illogical.

pride edit: "you barely won the battle" - awesome.

Hmmm ok. Maybe its because it was late and I wasn't "getting it" I just seemed at a dead end with no where to go. I will look better next time I dive in.

*edit* and there is NO WAYYYY this game is for kids. Most youngsters wouldn't even have made it out of the first town lol.

"My name is Dante Hicks and I am the biggest idiot ever"

Man. I have been playing this game in like half hour increments for a little over a week now. No more than a couple of hours in one day, but even those couple of hours got broken up into like half hour pieces...... anyways...I done found a glitch and/or fudged up.. I'm not too far into the game, but going to use the spoiler tags anyways (even though anyone playing should read the below as a cautionary tale... this is reminding me of a certain part in Overlord that once you mess up, you couldn't go back or something)...

I needed to talk to Joseph to get my drill piece for my hover board ...but I didn't find out this piece of information until AFTER I was already off Blue Desert. After going back to every location and talking to every person, I have not found a way I can further progress in the game at all without that drill piece, and it seems my one chance on Blue Desert was just that.. my one chance.

Google searches seem to show that if I want to enjoy any more of this game, I will have to start over.. which I would not enjoy because of how slow this game starts before it gets any good :(

where's joseph currently? he won't do it for you anymore? joseph doesn't stay in the same place, and sometimes you need to sleep in order to get him to move.

Woo, an actual reply before I am going to sleep

Joseph is still in Blue Desert. I can go up to his room, A61 or A51, whatever, and Mary is there telling me that he needs to come back or some crap and she'll help me or he'll help me. If I go to Mac, he just gives me the line of I shouldn't change up my hover board too much and it'll end in divorce or whatever weird line he says. And if I go out to the volcano's or the east part of the outside of the dome area, to where those workers are, that one dude with the drill just tells me to talk to mary.. thus making me go in circles.

The closest thing I have found to a possible answer for that I had to level my character up more or something before Mac would upgrade me with a drill. But that ended up being bull as far as I can tell. I leveled up my character twice and went back to him only to hear his weird divorce line or whatever. I am on day 12 in game right now, I forget what level my character is at right now
.

Messed up thing is, IGN's guide and gamefaq's only faq on the game are done poorly imo. They are separated by how to get the best in each job or whatever.. which I understand which jobs you choose are optional so I guess needs to be separated.. but there should still be some straight forward faq for this game as far as just the main storyline for Opoona goes.

have you slept recently? i think you need to before joseph moves back to his room. he did my board earlier, but i wouldn't assume you're screwed yet.

He appeared for me I believe in the Dome... ummmm I can't remember off the top of my head but it was in the dome and there was an outside area and he was sitting on a bench for me. The outside area had art peieces all around the are as well and it was near the farming area. He was on a bench with someone else. Try looking in that area after you sleep maybe?. Not sure If I slept or left and came back but I found it out that he was there, but it seems from what I'm understanding that he moves around.

Actually, I don't think I have purposely slept more than twice in the game. I can only recall one point where I think Serge tells you to sleep. In fact, I am a full no retard, because I have not noticed how exactly days are tracked in the game.. and of course the sleeping makes sense, but I have not really found many opportunities where I am able to sleep (again though, I haven't been looking/noticing).

I need to play this game more than a half hour at a time.

I need to sleep (irl).. like right now. Haven't been to sleep since 6 last night.

I am going to combine both your advices here and when I play again I will first try and find somewhere where I can sleep (in the game), because I have no idea where I can do this other than the original bed I started out on in the original dome. Then I will wander around the art area (I know where you are talking about, Mac and the old farmer guy hang around the benches there).

I guess spoiler tags really aren't needed, not enough played this game

(but just enough to help me out!.. hopefully). Thanks guys.

Yeah keeps us posted. I only stopped playing because I need to level up more to take on the boss in the area I'm at. Which isn't all that far from where you are currently. I love the game, but its unfortunatly on my backlog for the moment. Reminds me of a Harvest Moon game mixed with a rpg. :D

For those of you who care and haven't downloaded a gamerip already: Basiscape announced that they're doing an Opoona soundtrack and a Terra Diver soundtrack. Since there's already one for Terra Diver, I hope it has new arrangements. Either way, Opoona turned out to be really fun for what it was (I LOVE community-based games) and Terra Diver is 1 of my favorite shoot-'em-ups of all-time. I can't wait.

Hype Thread for a game like Opoona - damn funny times back than :lol

I started playing Opoona a few month ago and I was kinda impressed by it. I was not expecting much though but the game is cute, the story is not that bad, the gameplay is good. If it wasn't for the awful translation I would have give it a strong 15/20.

Not a bad game at all and pretty cheap now :)

I bought this game for $10 at GS but haven't opened it yet. It doesn't sound all too bad, especially for $10.

there's a lot to like about it, actually. there's just a lot to complain legitimately about as well. combat system is nifty, but poorly balanced and lacking in variety. world is really beautiful and imaginative in places and far too copy/paste in others. would have benefited greatly from a few more artists and a pass or two of tightening up the gameplay on level two.
