That's what I've been looking forward to with PoP too. The only gaming I do most of the time is MP shooters, so it'll be a nice change of pace to just get a good 10-15 hours of SP gaming in with this.SpeedingUptoStop said:I really hope this game is good. Good to know, thank you. I pre-ordered the 360 version today based on this and the 360 footage they had recently on gamespot. Looked very smooth there.Blimblim said:I only got the 360 version. So far after 2 hours the only slowdowns/noticeable tearing I've seen was during cutscenes. Gameplay was very smooth.
bcn-ron said:I've watched some footage (cover disc of a magazine you don't know) and can't help but notice there's massive full-screen motion trailing going on all the time. If you don't know what I mean, it's motion blur's ugly twin brother. Same idea but with all semblance to physical reality erased.
It makes me sick, GAF, for real. Please tell me that this effect isn't in the full game. Please tell me it's a borked capture or a framerate conversion artefact. Please.
Naked Snake said:GAF should I get the UK version for the superior boxart and extra bonuses? It would actually come out cheaper for me. I have an American PS3, and I'm just a tiny bit worried that I might have difficulty with DLC or with finding and downloading compatible save files (I like to download a 100% complete save to check out all unlockables after beating the game once on my own, since I know for certain that I'll never grind through it to get everything).
Anyone with similar previous experiences with importing Ubisoft games for PS3?
PS3 games are region free. All of them, anywhere, invariably, all the time.Snaku said:I thought US PS3's couldn't play UK games?

You probably heard something about PS2 games being played on BC PS3s. The region locking of PS2 stuff remains in full force.

Must cutscenes are to be triggered by you by pressed the left button (icon flashes on the screen). So if you don't want to see some pointless (if you don't care about the characters) dialog, just don't press the button. Important cutscenes are mandatory of course.cjelly said:Has it got as many annoying cutscenes as Assassin's Creed?
I read something somewhere where they said the game is constantly stopping for people to speak. That shit pisses me off no end.

Judging from the video it seems like a back and forth (parry and attack) fighting system. Is that the reason you hate it?
you know what, other than the "lasts forever" part, that sounds awesomesnoopers said:I find it very tedious. It's always the same pattern, just like a boss battle.
It goes like this: the enemy is spamming you, so block. Do a quick release of the block trigger and press again right before the enemy hits you in order to create a counter window. Now you can either hit him with your sword, grab him or unleash Elika. The Prince will execute whatever move you chose and when it's done, the enemy starts spamming you again. Repeat the pattern until he dies.
It requires no skill at all and lasts forever, I totally hate it. And later in the game you get enemies that have a corruption shield, so if you want your counter moves to be effective, first you need to do a grab counter move and THEN the usual pattern. And of course the corruption shield returns after 15 seconds...
Only "grunts" though.Hellsing321 said:If you're quick enough, you can kill enemies before they spawn too.

the lack of a really good single player game is what keeps me from gaming as much as i used to. multi is fun when you got friends who play also but when none of your older friends game it becomes a drag pretty quick.Salazar said:Atari say our age is ending. Bad dialog and crap combat...yet I'm still dropping $59.99. The game looks too darn beautiful.

2) I love AC's combat
3) The game is totally worth its price. Beautiful journey, if not very challenging.

Damn, I see where you're coming from. Thanks for the detailed combat impressions snoopers. I'm glad to read that you're still recommending it at full price. Now, how is the platforming? I've always loved the PoP series for their platforming.snoopers said:I find it very tedious. It's always the same pattern, just like a boss battle but for every enemy in the game.

In my case I spend a lot of time trying to get all the light seeds, so I'd say fights are more like 5 to 10% of my game time. And that's fine by me, personally good or not I'd rather have no fights at all and just explore the incredibly beautiful levels.snoopers said:20-30, yeah.

Btw, except when you teleport to a cleaned place or the temple, there are *no* loadings in this game. Except for one pretty strange bug with Elika not moving to a lever (she justs "teleports" there after a few seconds though), I find this game to be very polished. Unlike most recent Ubisoft games if I can add![]()
The PC version has been "released" already? Damn usually it's on consoles first. I was wondering why so many people were already playing the game too...Blizzard said:How are all you people playing it? Are there really so many reviewers with release builds here? PC VERSIONNNNN ARGH
Why would there be any difference?JSnake said:Is there any difference between the PC and console version besides achievements/trophies, resolution, and controls?

Maybe unlockables like the Prince/Farah costumes aren't there, I don't know, but otherwise the game itself shouldn't be any different at all.
