I'm using this Rock Band one at the moment. Wondering if anybody would be able to whip up some icons for my users? I was thinking the Rock Band instrument icons (Guitar, Mic and Drums)

Would be much appreciated

I would like that 10,000x more if it was minus that logo. is it minus the logo while being used, or is it just a watermark for the web?

I need something to replace my GT5P theme. I love half life 2 and team fort. It would have been nice if that guy that did the HL2 theme didn't add the basket weave texture mess to the background. Totally ruined it, and if he added sound it would be golden, and dethrone my GT theme.

I want to finish it soon (I hope before FF XIII is launched) :-$ and to make wallpapers more useful, I change some backgrounds in order to do something more darker, because PS3 text is white.

There's no PS3 Themes watermark in the real theme, but there's the Rock Band logo

From my own theme thread:

It's funny, of all the themes I've created, I always leave my PS3 set to the default, minimalistic theme. I just like having something that, in my mind, best reflects the hardware, and the subtle craftsmanship that goes into its design. So my mission with this was to create a theme that *I* would use.

This is what I came up with: 'CELL Project'

I'll leave whoever is curious to decide how I came up with that name. Of note, I took a great deal of time setting up the specular high-lights and the materials used in the scene, so very little post-processing was needed after the final output render.

and . . . er . . a rehost would be welcome.

by my, you know, wallet.

Best theme out there, LOVE it.

why is it glowing red hot? shouldn't you be leaving "glowing" and "red" for your xbox 360 jokes? ;)

looks spectacularly awesome.

ps. what's the secret to hosting the download so people can install them via the PS3 browser? I'll add the one we developed internally for TimeShift to this thread (yeah, lolz I know). filecrunch seems to have uploads disabled (for now).

Ours is stalled getting in public because our site is in Flash 9 and the PS3 doesn't read Flash 9. fun times.

PS3files.net snagged it, of course (I'm assuming by your hand) and, not surprisingly, it's easily the top rated theme on the site. Hopefully that'll help offload some of the traffic a little...

seems weird to me that most of the time you come up with really kickass background and the icons feels left out and rushed, i would have used light colors for the icons tbh, would have added more contrast to it and maybe a bit of red to go along with the inside "grid" style :)

m0dus said:
I actually spent more time on the icons than the background -- I experimented with added the red glow effect to all of them, but it looked WAY too busy, and it ruined the minimalist approach for the theme. I decided to let only one icon have the 'red' glow effect applied to it, which worked out nicely. I wanted it to be subtle.

Alright fair enough, but to me it feels a bit weird in terms of readability of the icons, a little bit lighter grey would do the trick i guess, dunno.

Don't listen to this guy, Modus. Those icons look great. Love the subtle reflection.

I still use the default theme 99% of the time too. But when I do change it up just for fun, or to show off the feature to a friend, your themes are the ones I use.

Somebody know where to get the default XMB icons?
NOT the skewed ones that sony "brilliantly" released...

Great themes as always Modus.

m0dus, I am amazed. Half of all my themes comes from you, the Cell project is the greatest one you've done.

Do you have the wallpaper alone? I'd love to use this on my PC! :D
I have this on my PS3 now, I love it!

Oh snap, a white version. Slick you rock. Now someone please upload to one of those ps3 browser download sites. Must have this, darn my lazyness to go to the pc and boot it.

Man I didn't know people are doing that. Pretty sad that they can't come up with there own stuff. To bad you can't put a password on the .p3t file.

m0dus said:
to answer someone's question, yes, I am going to keep signing my themes--I've already had a couple issues with people taking them and re-badging them as their own for upload, or hacking the p3t files and putting in their own icon sets, or taking the wallpapers and putting them in their background stacks, etc.
