The challenge was to make the menu text viewable on a white background. I was able to mess with some of the specularity to get it dark in juuuust the right place.

Fantastic theme, I think I might just use that one.
Though, why not make a combination version, where it's a white background and black icons and the other way around? =)

Lord, I wish there were more assets available for wallpapers. either way, the majority of the work went into the icons this time around--I wanted to do a mishmash of sackboy, plywood, cardboard, etc. I think it worked out pretty okay. I may do more wallpapers when there are more assets available. until then--here's your theme. :p Now no more requests for it.

Looks great so far!

One comment though bud. I noticed this in the Resistance theme you put up earlier and also from the Hat icon in that screen shot.

There seem to be some jaggies in the icons and the fine lines of detail are lost a little bit when viewed on a big screen. I'm using the themes at 1920x1080 so perhaps thats to blame for this?

I'm not having this issue with the icons of m0dus' theme fwiw.
 
I'll double check. The previews I post are all scaled down, which is reason for the jaggies there, but I'll double check to see which ones have jaggies, and touch them up.

It's probably because I'm just doing this with raster work in photoshop, lol. I really don't have time to do vectors for all the icons...though I really should. Maybe I'll consider it for this theme, since I'm a HUGE Indiana Jones buff.

Been living with this installed for a few days, and would like to report that this theme is AWESOME.

Some really nice touches here like the "Recruit" thing over the forces symbol for the "Create New User" button. "Display Settings" is another fav. with the test pattern on the screen. Glad you switched the Camera icon. Looks good as an old-school flex camera.

Lots of creativity in this theme, but also very functional, which is what separates most themes from really great ones like yours and Modus'.

I'm not using the Background image...(I still love the "wave") but it works great with that as well, no matter what time of day.

Hey MODUS: Any chance of getting an alt version of the Street Fighter theme (which I love, BTW) that will work better with the default "wave"? Perhaps one with the icons inverted to white or grey or another color? The black just gets lost sometimes.
 
I want to install some of the themes that Sony has posted on the GAP site which I downloaded, but when I copy them onto a flash drive or a memory stick (I've tried both), whenever I try to install them, I get an error message from the PS3 saying that no themes are present on the flash drive/memory stick. In both cases, they were in the root directory, though I also tried to put them in a directory named "PS3" and achieved the same lack of success. What's the secret to making this work? Is it because I'm copying the files from a Mac rather than a PC in the first place (*that* would suck), or is there some other trick to it that I'm unaware of?

You make a folder on the memory stick called "PS3" then a folder inside that called "THEME" then put the custom theme file in there.

make a folder named "PS3" > make another folder inside and name it "THEME" > put the themes inside

Wow, thanks man :D

I'm still working on my Indy theme. I've gone back and reworked a lot of icons, and I'm spending a ridiculous amount of time on the Players Met and Blocked icons, lol. Hopefully everyone will like it when I finish it all up!

Edit: Wow, I guess in the company of a lot of other great themes on allps3themes! I didn't know people would actually like it :P Sweet...now I'm motivated to make my Indy theme faster!
 
wondering if someone could make me an awesome Tekken 5 DR Lili theme
Edit: I was thinking something like that pose she strikes every now then after she does that flip of hers when you win as the main background.

The HD-DVD and Blu-ray editions of the movie are published, so good quality material is out there.
