Official Rockman Rockman/Megaman Powered Up Infrastructure Thread

In addition to the GameSpy stage, a new version of Roll (Mega Man 8 version) and the Old Fireman construction pack are now available for U.S. gamers to download.

I got this last night, and even though I played through the import already, man...this is some good stuff. Can't wait to get near some wifi and nab the new stuff.

Yea...I almost forgot how difficult this game could get....

As for the map making. After a few sessions of new style play, I'm busting out my old Mario Bros 3 strat guide, and remaking the level with the Kuribo boot.

Just got this game, and it's great :P I love the art-style and there's plenty of replayability. The downloadable content is awesome too. I need to unlock the various packs so I can make a good level, does anyone have a list of how many there are and where they're located?

More games should include level editors :P (I'd cream my virtual pants if they ever made a Fire Emblem with a campaign/mission editor)

Capcom, please make more Maverick Hunter X's and Powered Ups. Love, Tempy.

i love this game :lol

Iceman is hilarious in the Japanese version. He talks like the frogs from Keroro Gunsou and I think he even might have the same voice actor as one of them, "~~~ de arimasu!!!". Best character in the game :lol

Made another level! NEMESIS: Iceman, code is 59667943-002

For those without wi-fi access (or too lazy) I also uploaded the stage:

Just unzip to the SAVEDATA directory (make sure use folder names or whatever is on!) and it'll appear in the downloaded stages section.

WARNING: IT USES SLOT 004 IN THE SAVE DIRECTORY SO IF YOU ALREADY HAVE A STAGE THERE THIS WILL OVERWRITE IT. You can change which slot it uses by editing the number at the end of the folder that the file is in..I think.

Ok, I finally got the game today. So far I've beaten Easy mode, half of Normal, and a maybe a quarter of Hard with Megaman. Other than that, I beat the intro and easy Cutman with Roll and managed to clear 8 challenges.

I haven't tried the construction mode yet, but everything so far is great. Maybe Duckroll can edit the first post and keep a list of GAF-user created stages. When I need a break from the main game I want to try out everyone's creations!

there is a level for download that allows you to use protoman... man he rocks. before he enters the stage... it plays protoman whistle lol nice touch.

ps: 8 bit textures look freaking awesome!

It has been forever since I played the original Mega Man, so I woant to ask you guys a question. Was the annoying delay when you try to move in the original game? I don't remember it, but I also probably just accepted it back in the day. Now, though, it causes me so much frustration. I am playing the Fireman stage and it has caused me so many deaths, I want to throw down my PSP in frustration. I guess I don't have the twitch skills I used to have when I was a kid.

Is anyone at least a little peeved with the fact that you don't have full access to the level construction capabilities until you can obtain all of the enemy and environment packs which requires using not just Megaman to complete the levels, but several of the boss characters? I don't get the logic to this, it's infuriating.

Yes, but has that delay in movement always been there?

It took a split second for him to accelerate to "full" speed in the original, wich leads me to a question. Does he still glide in MM:PU after you've stopped pressing the digipad, it's quite notable in the original and used to annoy me to no end when moving on tight platfoms.

Well, I tried the demo...and I definitely don't remember there ever being such a delay in the original when you wanted to start moving. Because I did notice the delay in Powered Up, after just a couple of minutes. And even if it was in the original version (and was made more apparent or whatever in Powered Up), it feels a bit "off" to me.

Yes, that is a little strange the first time, but after one or two hours, you just don't notice it anymore....or at least, it doesn't disturb you anymore ;).

Yes, I felt this way too. To top it off, some of them are quite tricky to get. There was one in Fireman's level that you had to use Oilman to get, that was a bitch.

O.M.G.

I just saw this; suffice it to say, Christmas came a little bit early for us GnG fans:

:lol you got to be kidding me, best game ever.

My copy finally arrived.

The first thing that struck me were the graphics. Simply adorable and perfect.
The second thing that struck me was the difficulty! This game is insanely hard, and it's even more frustrating because it has these cutesy graphics which laugh in your face whenever you get a Game Over. :(

Great game though, very challenging and addictive, and I'm also loving the Construction mode.

That's not all she can use XD Mallets! Umbrellas! Brooms! Capcom was totally aiming to sell her with RM RM.

In any case, someone hacked up the US version and unlocked all her costumes + the extra construction tiles. Needless to say Capcom was extremely unhappy about it and gave fansites unpleasant letters that theyve never recieved before. Apparently someone posted a stage with the hacked stuff and that redflagged them. Also don't try and promote it or up it either, you'll get your MAC banned from MMWeb if you do.

Edit: and I have had the chance to mess with these variations.. I can wait now :D

kiryogi, and "new" construction packs found besides the NES tilesets?

Yeah, some themed ones apparently. The stage I was talking about that was upped to US MMWeb was a japanese themed stage. There's talk about tilesets like GnG too.

And here's the rest of the rollchans for viewing pleasure.

So how's the download functionality of this working out? I think I saw mention of a rating system for levels; is it easy to find the good ones?
