You have to be kidding. The retarded background color ruins the pictures.

The background colors are a bit bright, but I like them more than the new wallpapers which basically have in-game backgrounds. Although I think the graphics look great for this game, those wallpapers don't really seem to do it justice. I'd prefer to see some hand drawn wallpapers, but I like these bright background ones more than the newer ones, for the most part.

That reviewer can go screw himself. Also WTF at "unresolved story"? Did you just spoil the game for me you little bitch?

I wouldn't be so quick to think its a spoiler. If you were to listen to PSM's review of Silent Hill 2 the story was incomplete and didn't make any sense either. Reviewers have strange views on stories.

Those JPN wallpapers are a dream come true because you can totally take that background and do whatever you want with it.

For instance. which took all of about 5 minutes to do because of the awesome colors they chose.

This game has been under my radar until now. That site is great and the game looks beautiful. I liked ICO, but I hope they improved the combat in this one.

Since Zelda was pushed back, this will be my replacement.

Playing the demo, I think the people who didnt like Ico because of the shallow combat and lack of enemies...will definitely hate this game even more.

I almost wish there were no enemies in ICO. Though I thought they looked really really cool (and the blur effect on their eyes was incredibly awesome), fighting them was just a distraction from the environment and the rest of the game. It didn't help that the combat was on the shallow side, but it felt like they were there so that you couldn't leave Yorda alone for too long, excluding the story aspect, so I didn't really mind it due to that reasoning. I'd rather have had it that way than have a ton of enemies with a deep combat system.

I really liked ICO, but why do you think those that disliked ICO's shallow combat and/or lack of enemies will dislike SotC even more? It seems as though this game was made with those who disliked ICO in mind. The combat looks to be more deep, the game has more action, and although there's only 16 enemies, they all are probably going to be awesome in size and in epicness. I figured that those who disliked ICO will like this game more. So what's your reasoning for it to be the opposite after playing the demo?

There's been at least three box arts shown so far, all fairly similar. Only one actualy uses the SotC logo, which is the one I assume is the final one.

Now they're just gonna cry about no minor enemies to fight between colossi.

Although I believe the director inferred he wanted to go for a higher energy/action approach with SotC, the impression I got from the demo was that this game is anything but a direct (or even indirect) response to any criticism on what Ico "lacked" from a gameplay standpoint. If anything its a direct extention of Ico's overall thematic being taken to bold new heights. Perhaps the awing and adversarial nature of the "bosses" will draw in gamers that got put to sleep by Ico, but each Colossi when you break it down are essentially organic, kinetic versions of the Castle in the first game. Which is fucking awesome. But its still a puzzler/platformer at heart with a much steeper learning curve and the same sublime atmosphere and abstract storytelling that made Ico such a cult favorite... and a flop at EB. Unless it gets a hell of a marketing push I dont see SotC finding that much wider of an audience than its forebear, but I hope Im dead wrong about that.

Where did you get the demo? I've been waiting for two weeks for Software Etc. to get them in and give me a call. And I don't have a subscription to OPM.

Somebody on this board gave a link to a free 6 month subscription to OPM a couple months ago. :) Its actually a pretty decent rag too.

Hmmm...the game looks to interesting to pass up anyway. It has a very epic feeling from the screenshots. The colossi look amazing.

Ico had some flaws, but the positives outweighed the negatives. If Colossus is actually a better game overall, then I'll be happy.
