Official Sony's Gamers Day Thread - It has Begun

Uh, do you know how depth of field works on a camera? Wide angle shots have way less than close up shots. Blame the laws of optics.

Only you would look at those shots and care about motion blur.

Your gimmick is getting tired.

Say what?

The videos are definetly from an old build.
You can notice that the floor's textures are totally flat (although detailed) in the TGS demo while in the new screens we have perfectly 3D rocks.

BTW - the new Lair footage looks hot. Framerate is hugely improved.

I still find the transition to close combat a bit jarring ... but the fire-fights are ASTONISHING looking.

There were serveral dragons ... a crap-load of fire ... and the speed was just astonishing.

What do we have to do to get them to log into the goddamn Playstation Network? Drug the Sony Rep? SHOW US!

They are interviewing one of the devs at Gamespot's 'On the Spot' that's live right now.

At first I thought it was the Sony game when he mentioned 1080p ... and sixaxis free throws ... but then they kept on asking him to compare it to the 360 version of the game

That's when I was like WTF? Then they mentioned 2K games.

Not only that.

1080p

60fps.

Real 5-on-5 online via 2 or more PS3s. (you could have 5 guys on your PS3 playing another 5 man team on another PS3 across the network) First for a basketball game.

Sony first party is owning the third party on the dev end. I'm jumping the gun here, but I think that on a technical level, they've actually gotten better...which is scary. I'm hoping now that the next time we see GT:HD, it'll be looking incredible. I can dream at least.

Lair looked great in the tutorial. I didn't notice the same animation quality in the other gameplay vids. I'll wait for good-quality vids, since I'm not a sub. Anyway, we knew the models were of great quality since they've had realtime demos running a long time ago showing the models from the trailer. From looking at the tutorial video, I think it uses some procedurally generated terrain. It looks like the "Bryce-ish" fractal terrain stuff they demoed back on the PS2. It could explain the massive scale of the scene. The game has plenty of time ahead of it. PEACE.

Jesus ...

This is system really is turning into ZOMG AWESOME

WAIT THEY ARE GOING OVER SUPPORTED VIDEO, PICTURE, AND AUDIO FORMATS!!!!

HOLY ****!111!!!

THE BROWSER IS EVEN AMAZING ... WHAT IS HAPPENING!?!?!

OMG skipping the store!!!!

GRRRRRRRR!! omg those lair shots look like someone just shat out a...shit.

blast factor looks pretty lame from the video -- tiny playfields, enemies that don't shoot. maybe i will skip it.

Calm down dude... :lol :lol :lol

Funny thing is i cant see shit.

Took a little nap and I wake up to this. PS3 delivers, no doubt about it.

Warhawk is definitely my most wanted game now. Open-ended games shouldn't look that good this early into development, I can't wait to see how it looks next Summer when it's finished.

Not true. You can see parallax (or offset) mapping on rocks on the ground in new IGN videos. It's pretty clearly visible in HD videos.

I think so, they are taken from the IGN HD videos. And the IGN HD videos are from the TGS version of the game I think.
