Official Sony's Gamers Day Thread - It has Begun

XBOX LIVE AM CRY?
Yeah, I think Microsoft is probably in a lot of trouble. Everything Sony is doing just seems to be on a completely different level. Even the interface/navigation seems a gen ahead, with all the thumbnail videos in the background... and especially the downloadable PS1 games.

Get Tomba on that shit and stat.

Criminal Crackdown sounds alot like Crackdown.... doesn't it?

Yeah, but it's the criminal version. The other is the cop version. To get the full experience, you need to buy both consoles. In that sense, it's like GTA4. Next gen ftw.

3:11 p.m.: Harrison says that's the whole PS3 experience. The games, the network functionality, the store, the downloadable games, the Web browser. He says Sony is proud to show it to everyone and asks people to enjoy the rest of the afternoon playing games, then hands it back to Kaz.

3:12 p.m.: Kaz says Sony has "an unparalled lineup of launch titles" and emphasizes that there are a lot more exciting titles after launch, like MotorStorm, Lair, Warhawk, and a few others.

Seems to be about over...

i just don't see how it would improve the sixaxis if they added enough dead weight to make it feel like other controllers. the weight might create some impression that it's more solidly built, but it wouldn't be more solidly built...it'd just be heavier. i didn't notice the controller's weight when i tried it at e3.

Hold it in free air for an hour and say you want it heavier.

Apart from the PSP-PS3 connectivity & Sharing of downloadable games, what an underwhelmington.

No component, first party titles at $60, Controller for $50. No info on BC functionality either. :(

Meh, next-gen game sharing is at least good news. Especially if it could spur MS to do something similar.

The way they explained the downloadable PSOne games sounds good, but the non-replaceable battery in the controller sounds like a major letdown. Nothing's perfect, I guess.

Hmm, no announcement of component cables at all. I guess they're just going to repackage the PS2 component cables and resell them for around $20-$30.

I'm pretty sure it'll happen. That's why, despite what some goofs would like you to believe, competition is a good thing.

After this conference, I wouldn't be surprised in the least to see MS working behind the scenes to get downloadable xbox games on Live within the next year

Quit with the BC whining, just keep your PS2s. If you really want to be hardcore buy a slimline PS2 (should've already) so you can save space.
