First Contact was an awesome episode. The new race seems pretty good. I loved the way Todd reacted when the ships exploded, the way he knew of the "Aterro device", recalling it from when he was in the original Wraith / Ancient war.

Edit:

Huge fucking spoiler:

This reveals information about the new race. Do not watch if you don't want the next episode spoiled! I couldn't help myself...

:lol SciFi really loves to spoil all the fun. Saw a pic on SciFi.com and had to laugh, but considering the show ends with this season I'm happy about it. Can't wait to see who they really are and how it all plays out.

I thought the Michael Shanks episodes were pretty good even if they lacked the sheer asskickery of the Teal'c & Ronon vs. the Wraith episode. That being said I am not looking forward to the Atlantis movies nearly as much as I do the SG-1 films. Not because I dislike Atlantis which is actually the reason I started watching SG-1 in the 1st place but because I think there is still alot of life left in SGA as a series and think they are jumping the gun in going to made for tv movies.

I really like this episode and thankfully I was spoiler free so it was a bit of a shock to see the new alien race.
Especially since they were supposed to be from the Milky Way originally, not Pegasus. Dumb twist IMO. Where are the Furlings?

That's pretty incredible that Todd is over 10,000 years old. Dizam!!!

Most were in stasis since the last big war. It's not too surprising. If he was conscious the whole time, that'd be impressive.

I just started watching this show and it ROCKS Mc Kay and Ronon <3 I wish more sci-fi shows were as funny as this, not enough funny sci-fi shows in North America. All the outdoor scenes make me want to go hiking though (it's filmed near here Vancouver). I would recommend David Hewlett's (Mc Kay) film "a Dog's Breakfast" it stars a lot of the Atlantis cast and its really funny little film, I would put Hewlett on a short list of actors I would like to meet...he seems really cool and sounds like he's working on some new stuff.

Furlings are from the MW too, they explain why the
Bad-Ass-gard
are there.

edit: I suppose thats a spoiler...

The new episode with Michael Shank was frigging hilarious at the beginning. McKay being jealous that Ronan went with Jennifer (the doc) because it seems both of them are interested in Jennifer. Then, afterward, they got all these epic epic shots of Atlantis while all Daniel Jackson and McKay did were walking around Atlantis finding stuff from the flooded room. I was laughing during all the epic pull back/forward of the camera while panning around Atlantis :lol :lol :lol

Good plot twist during the episode too. NO SPOILER FOR FUTURE EPISODES !

McKay and Sheppard are what make the show for me. :D

Pretty much (though I like the new doctor...chick from Firefly). Any word on what is going to happen with Stargate after this show ends? Are they doing a new one?

Mckay and Daniel had a really interesting dynamic. Hilarious, too. Wish they would do SG1/Atlantis pairings more often.
I think this was my favorite Daniel/Rodney bit, near the end:

JACKSON: Yes! Yes, it has. It sure has. But I do wanna say thank you -- for saying that you respected me when you thought I was about to die back there.

(Rodney frowns and shakes his head.)

McKAY: Excuse me? I said no such thing.

JACKSON: Yeah, you did. You were, like, "I know it may not seem like it but I really respect you," and that means a great deal to me.

(He smiles up at Rodney.)

McKAY: I don't believe I ever finished that sentence.

(Daniel's smile fades.)

JACKSON: How else would you have finished that sentence?

McKAY: I would have said "regret." I would have said, "I really regret you being here, because none of this would have happened ... otherwise."

(Daniel stares at him while Rodney tries to look nonchalant.)

JACKSON: So you can only give compliments to the dying?!

More SG-1 and Atlantis-based movies as long as they're successful, and a third series (Stargate Universe) starting in 2009.

SG-1 instead of Atlantis, buuut this being the least ancient Official Stargate thread...

If you didn't buy the SG-1 complete series set back when it was $130 for a day, today's Amazon Gold Box deal is that it's just $100. That's less than 50 cents per episode.
Dear God, it's 150€ here, fuckin bitches :(

Also, is there any more info on Stargate Universe? And when is it starting?

Back on the Atlantis topic, I am so glad (/sarcasm) that despite knowing for quite a while that this would be the last season, the writers still decided to make the vast majority of the final episodes nothing more than crappy one-offs.

Edit - After doing some more reading it would appear that all of the episodes were written before they found out. Episodes have still been mediocre at best lately.

If there was another season it would be ok, but yeah it kinda blows.

It seems that though Vegas and Enemy at the Gate will link up in some way.

Since this thread has been mostly dead for a few months, I have to say that seeing these guys in an episode was an unexpected hoot.

Yeah, with 20 being a game changer. Duh duh duuuuuh.

It was a bit of a cop out if you ask me. But I admire the way the writers introduced an entirely new plot point via the alternate reality gimmick, it takes big brass balls to try something like that.

really enjoyed the last two episodes....especially the finale, much better then the SG-1 finale and i am glad they did not go with a cliffhanger

i am going to miss the show, it took a while to grow on me but it eventually hooked me.....will be interesting too see what they do with the movie

for the first time in a long time though.....no stargate series on tv :( the wait isn't to bad until Universe though, starts June/July next year

does the
Wraith's new super duper mothership
look badass?

it just looks like the normal wraith hive ships except just much much bigger, the main weapon also looks different

ah, that kinda sucks. SG-1 has a huge amount of variety in terms of ships. the wraith are quite boring in comparison.

Well thats that, pretty good ending I guess. We did get a small promo for Stargate Universe, coming sometime this year apparently.

Looks like I'm a bit LTTP for the last episode, heh....

I only can say: Thank god it is over! The last couple of episodes felt like some weird fan-fiction with paid actors. Wormhole drive...yeah...suuuuure.
At least we got some action in the finale.
