Bengals did do it first, though.Dirtbag said:(definitely not from the bengals either)

I like the story of how the Saints got started. Sleazy back room deals during the NFL/AFL merger. It's just so New Orleans.
You are a Raiders/Patriots fan. Of course you would love sleazy dealings!Rorschach said:Bengals did do it first, though.

[edit] And I hate the tacked on "nation" at the end. So fucking lame. There's only one "nation" in all of sports, boyos!
I said that the Bengals used theirs first. They did. I didn't say the Saints stole it. Don't be so defensive. It's just a fact.Dirtbag said:No it was from the slavery era.. well before the bengals. And popped up in New Orleans area highschools in the 50's
Quiet Brady fan! I've had it with your Brady slobbering. Why don't you come out and just once admit that he's not all that great?! Brady's done!bionic77 said:You are a Raiders/Patriots fan. Of course you would love sleazy dealings!

I admit it to everyone. Brady is done and he's not all that great. Moss and Welker carried his ass till their backs broke from having to carry so much deadweight.Rorschach said:Quiet Brady fan! Kidding me. I may be wrong, it has been a few hours since I last watched the SB 42 DVD, but I could have sworn the Giants not only stopped the best offense of all time, but also gave Brady a beating that he hasn't gotten since he stole out of momma Brady's purse.bionic77 said:Fuck that. Giants were a one and done team. Dream matchup would and should have been Steelers/Colts in Indy for the epic rematch. I would have loved seeing Peyton and Ben going back in forth in the 4th quarter. I would have loved seeing LeBeau going against Peyton. Ben's toughness versus Peyton's brains.
And regardless of how good the Giants/Colts matchup would be, the ESPN coverage of the Manning brothers leading to that Superbowl would cause everyone to vomit simultaneously.
I got nothing against Eli, but damn if even a Giants fan wouldn't get sick of that coverage.

We will have to agree to disagree. Take hear tho friend, we both agree that a QB's legacy is made by leading a team to victory in the face of adversity on the world's biggest stage.

The Saints' march to the Super Bowl attracted the largest non-Super Bowl TV audience in nearly 12 years.
Sunday's Vikings/Saints NFC Championship Game drew a massive 30.6/45 fast-national rating and 57.9 million viewers on FOX, up 39% in ratings and 43% in viewers from Ravens/Steelers on CBS last year (22.0/34, 40.6 mil), and up 5% and 7%, respectively, from Giants/Packers on FOX in '08 (29.0/43, 53.9 mil).
The game peaked with a 34.4/48 rating and 65.2 million viewers from 9:30-10 PM.
Vikings/Saints stands as the second-most viewed Conference Championship game in NFL history, behind only the 1982 Cowboys/49ers NFC title game on CBS (68.7 mil).
Additionally, the 30.6/45 rating is the highest for a Conference Championship game since Packers/Cowboys in '96 (33.3/58).
To put the numbers in perspective, no World Series game has drawn a rating of 30.6 or higher since Braves/Twins Game 7 in '91 (32.2/49), and no NBA Finals game has ever drawn a rating that high.
Vikings/Saints also drew a higher rating than every single primetime Olympics telecast -- Summer or Winter -- since '94. That includes the '96 Atlanta and '02 Salt Lake City games.
Excluding the Super Bowl, the game ranks as the most-viewed television program on any network since the series finale of Seinfeld in '98 (76.3 mil) -- topping the previous 12-year high of 53.9 million for Giants/Packers in '08 -- and the most-viewed program in the history of the FOX network.
Overall, FOX averaged a 22.4/38 rating and 40.2 million viewers for its coverage of the NFL playoffs -- the network's highest rated postseason since '97 and most-viewed ever.
And both games effectively ended with a Favre pick.Novid said:I never knew the Saints were a draw:
Of course, Farve helped in the ratings department... Great game but marred by that tick tack PI... But after years in the basement - the Saints made it in more ways than one.
CBS did well and if the Super Bowl gets close, they will beat there old record from Super Bowl 22 between Cincy and San Fran - highest rated TV event ever.

No one appreciated watching that beatdown of Brady in the SB more than me. But the Steelers dominated all season long. Depends which you think is more impressive, I can see the argument for both.Wellington said:Kidding me.
