PREDICTIONS

AFC Champions - Pittsburgh Steelers

NFC Champions - New Orleans Saints

SuperBowl Champions - New Orleans Saints

Worst Record - San Francisco 49ers

Biggest NFLGAF Meltdown - FMT
:lol

you wish brohem. we're going to go into arizona week 1 and embarrass your overrated team and i'll be there in person!

grandma warner needs a hip replacement and wont make it through the first half. then we ram it down your throats with frank the tank.

we're winning the NFC west and there isn't shit that you or your post week 1 starting qb (brian st. pierre) can do about it

A Saints/Steelers Super Bowl would be another of the same. Nothing different from the past year's game, except the lack of a huge playmaker at WR for New Orleans. I would like to see Reggie Bush get destroyed live, though, that's about it.

Marques Colston is one of the best WRs in the NFL.

lol new orleans isn't going to the superbowl. they have no running game and no defense. drew brees will put up 5000 yards and 30 TD's and the saints will finish 8-8. the falcons are winning that division!

p.s. the panthers will (unfortunately) finish 1-15 :( luckily there are some good players coming in this years draft so yeah

See where I am going with this? Anything can happen, its just a prediction.

Enjoy UofPhoenix Stadum, its a little bit nicer then monster.

Draft commentary for the 14-team mess:

DCX:
FYI, You can cut and paste from the draft results -> team tab and it shows up much cleaner.
Anyway, being as how I'm in the league, I'll just say this:
1. You need a flex player. I'm guessing you start Gage...?
2. You have two TEs and two defenses. Do you really plan on using them all?
Could be tough come bye weeks. Love the receivers though.

captive:
Your team name could use some work. :lol Some great stars at the big positions will keep you in it even if your bench fails. Receivers are fine, but you're running low at RB overall talent. If Bradshaw and Sproles don't find enough work you may need to start Curtis at flex. Also, I had never heard of Aaron Brown before this draft. :lol

Frankman:
Your team turned out surprisingly well. RB bench depth is toilet paper thin, but your starters are really solid. Really have no idea why you went 2TE but I guess Celek has as much upside as the rubbish on our waiver wire. :lol

Alex Anderson:
Er...no comments really. You have solid starters, a bit of risk, and an actual bench. How the hell did you get Driver and Evans for bench receivers? Plus, Ward and Graham, guaranteeing you production unless the Cadillac turns into a Hummer.

VPhys: no comment until week 2.

i was at the opening game for Pink Taco Stadium but we lost 35-27 thanks to a bunch of bullcrap calls (50 yard bomb TD called back on a bogus holding call, sammy davis dropping a pick 6).

cards fans had no pride that day. a bunch of bums with the price tag hanging off their boldin jerseys or not knowing WTF was going on or caring. i suspect we'll get the same this time around.... i just hope the shitty black eyed pee's aren't playing at halftime again. absolutely awful

Is he elite? Not in my eyes. A very good wideout, but Fitzgerald was awesome even against top tier defenses (see NFCC Game and Super Bowl). Plus Colston has a better QB throwing to him.

I'll wait until tomorrow to do full draft analysis, crazymoogle. I predicted a lot of waiver wire/FA deals and heck, made one myself.

Response to your analysis, the order left me w/o guys I wanted to pick (Leon Washington) so I tried to go depth/variety. When you're picking 12th in the 1st round I needed a splash and went Brees over a WR. I went Celek in the 15th because I don't trust Gates to stay completely healthy and Celek has tremendous upside. Also using my previous mock drafts/ESPN Mocks/Yahoo Player Ranker there were some sleeper RBs I knew would still be around in FA... heck I just dropped Maroney and picked up The Edge (#2 in Seattle, starter is Julius Jones :lol).

because what ESPN really needs is more meathead analysts spewing their cliches.
I don't know if it is just the Patriot hate talking or just haven't seen the guy much. Bruschi is the only player on that team which I could say is perfect for this. When he is on the radio or even his demeanor in advertisements, he is very smart and comes across very well. I would have been surprised if he didn't become an analyst or a commentator.

Didn't they already get the juicer Harrison on ESPN? Now they are adding Bruschi too?

Yeah I think Harrison is still around there somewhere. Not really a fan of him on the show. Many of the guys there I really don't understand. I mean when you hear Troy Aikman doing commentary you know people with the power just don't give a fuck.

First of all, you only said the Saints "lack a huge playmaker at WR." Colston is a one of the best in the league, easily top 10, but was hurt last year so people seem to forget about him. He isn't as good as Fitz, but no one is.

Striker said:

You're joking, right? Warner is a borderline Hall of Fame quarterback, Brees isn't even a lock for the Pro Bowl each season.

It's an valid argument. Statistically Brees is going to eclipse Warner.

It's like arguing Terrell Davis vs. Curtis Martin. Who would you choose? The guy with better career statistics? Or the guy who put up phenomenal numbers (in the regular season and playoffs) but had an injury-shortened career?

And we all know the most important statistic for QBs is winning. Yeah, I know, some people hate equating the two. But it's not like the Rams were good before Warner arrived. Or made the Super Bowl without him. Same with the Cards. And the Chargers are much better without Brees. Is it just coincidence?

Plus, Striker made his comment in such as way as to dismiss Colston's accomplishments while praising Fitz for doing more with less. That doesn't make sense at all. Both WRs are blessed with great QB play.

I don't want to make comparisons yet on Rivers vs. Brees yet. Neither have accomplished anything to this point and San Diego is the sort of organization that could just implode any minute.

You make it seem like there is a cut and dry answer for both of your examples when there isn't one at all.

We can certainly talk about the Rams before, during, and after Warner, though. And the Cards before and during.

SanjuroTsubaki said:

Depends what you want. TD helped carry his team to the Super Bowl, had a 2000 yard season, and blew out his knee in his prime. Martin was consistent every year, I think he has the record for most consecutive 1000 yard seasons, but he was never the best RB in the league and didn't pick up his production in the playoffs. I would be happy with either, but I'd rather win one Super Bowl surrounded by 13 losing seasons than fall just short every year. I think TD is the better back because he was so explosive, teams feared him.

Same thing with Warner. This season, I would take Brees over Warner because I don't trust a 38 year old man to stay healthy. But for one game? No contest. Warner has excelled on the highest level, over and over again, and would give a team the best chance to win a championship. Maybe you disagree, but I still think that one season in St. Louis is the best I have ever seen a QB play.

Plus, this whole Warner vs Brees debate started when Striker discounted Colston because he played with the better QB. Do you agree with that logic?

eznark said:
Just like pitchers I suppose!

So it's just a coincidence that Warner's appearance has helped two awful franchises reach the Super Bowl?

bionic77 said:

The only thing that ultimately matters is winning a Super Bowl. That's it. If one player is better equipped to accomplish that, I'll take him every time over a guy who puts up numbers in defeat.

That one season was better than the Brady's? 50 tds, 8 picks, 4800 yards, 117 rating. That's more tds, more yards, less picks, better rating, all without an all-world RB to keep defenses honest. Sure, he flubbed it in the super bowl, but that can't erase the ridiculous season he had from the QB position.

I mean I don't want to make that comparison because personally I don't like Rivers as a quarterback. So I'm sure any argument with him involved I'm going to slant it a bit.

I don't agree with the that logic on the receivers. It is true the quarterback can make a receiver look damn good statistically, but isn't that the entire point of their position?

It's not an objective analysis. Both were surreal, but Warner scared me more. Brady did play slightly better in the playoffs that year, though.

Steve Young's '94 season is the third best I've seen.

I gotta get in on this prediction thing so I can talk shit when I get 1 of the division champs picked correctly.

AFC East: Patriots
AFC West: Chargers
AFC North: Ravens
AFC South: Jaguars
Wild Cards: Steelers, Colts

NFC East: Giants
NFC West: Seahawks
NFC North: Packers
NFC South: Panthers
Wild Cards: Vikings, Eagles

AFC Conference Championship: Patriots vs. Steelers
NFC Conference Championship: Giants vs. Packers

Superbowl: Giants vs. Patriots

Champs: Brady

I think the NFC West is going to be fun to watch. Not because they're going to play good football, but because you just don't have any idea what's going to happen.
other than the Rams sucking

That is exactly how I feel. The way they have made it easier on offense all of these records are going to continue falling every few years. No one is going to ever go back and argue who the SB winner should have been though.

You could make the argument that Warner was making more difficult throws into smaller spaces.

The truth of the matter is that the two greatest offenses have one thing in common, and it ain't Thomas "I suck the Devil's cock" Brady.

Of the team's posted from Cloudy's Fantasy Draft, I think I like Crazymoogle's team the best, with Alex Andersons second. DCX would be third, and I think his Bench is horrible.
