Same here, all my attention has gone to Zelda. Even though I havent followed up on any of the other release games, I might end up buying them if they get good reviews. I never knew much about SotC or Okami, but I bought them because they both got brilliant reviews and they are two of my favoueite PS2 games.gamergirly said:Shoot, Im looking at 80 hours or more for Zelda:TP alone. I was very interested in Red Steel, Monkey Ball, and Trauma Center, but I dont really know too much about those games outside of comments here and there

I hope they fixed it too. We'll see in a week, assuming I can get some component cables right away.q*bert said:Does anyone know if Nintendo has adjusted the overscan on the image the Wii puts on the screen so you don't end up with vertical black bars on the left and right sides on 16:9 HDTVs. Gamecube and PS2 were notorious for not filling the whole screen on HDTVs. Just somethign that always annoyed me.

I will just say, I can't care about the packaging of a controller or console. i mean, i care about the cases games come in because they actually stick around but besides that...
Yeah, well, I like it when I see a nice package, but I also throw them away after opening up. Especially the 360 controller one's, which is such a horrible package with sharp edges.Amir0x said:I will just say, I can't care about the packaging of a controller or console. i mean, i care about the cases games come in because they actually stick around but besides that...
http://www.wired.com/news/technology/1,70874-0.htmlThe stubborn plastic casing around the Microsoft Xbox 360 faceplate seemed to laugh first at the kitchen scissors and then the steak knife that tried to penetrate it. When 14-year-old Daniel Mroue's attempt to open the thing with a long, serrated bagel knife failed, his parents became concerned.
Mroue's father, George, took over with a pair of box-cutters, which did the trick. But George Mroue also ended up with a wad of bandages shoring up the damage after slicing his palm open on a sharpened piece of plastic.
"It was ridiculous," groused George Mroue of the February incident. "There was nothing anywhere telling us how to open the (darn) thing. I don't understand why they make it so goddamn hard to open these things."

Then when Gamespot/EB Games opens later in the morning, I will go trade in my DSL with some DS/PSP games so I can pick up another wii controller with numchuck and a couple more games... not sure which yet as I want to see some reviews. Will most likely get a FPS (COD3 or RS) and a Mini-game title, Rayman or Monkey Ball.
Anyone know if you can still trade in the old style PS2s? I'll bring that too if they take them still.
Was kind of a hard choice between Wii & PS3, but when I remembered I can pick up a PS3 after launch, and that the Wii is already coming with a killer app, there really wasn't a need to get a PS3 just yet.
I have Thanksgiving week off as an added bonus.![]()
psycho_snake said:So what games is everyone buying at launch?
Im just buying zelda. There would be no point of buying any other games because Im not too interested in them and if i did buy them they would be sitting on the shelf for ages because i will be too busyu with zelda.

Edit: It seems that Game has canned all the reserves, they're gonna sell the units to the firstcomers, night-camping FTW.
I just LOVE getting cut by my accessory packaging.Amir0x said:oh man, Xrenity, there's a joke there but I'll take the higher road!

just to clarify a bit, I don't think you will be able to "walk in to" anywhere to get a Wii... you will have to stand in a line, and all launch day units will sell out. if you truly plan on just showing up somewhere after the lines have died down, prepare to be disappointed. I think the stories of people walking into a store later in the day and just seeing units sitting there will be few and far between. I mean this isn't the PSP we're talking about.DemDereNads said:I'm going to walk in to my local walmart at 12:01AM Sunday morning and hopefully pick one off the shelf along with Zelda.
the only BC issues I would imagine exist are the GBP, networking on the games that support it, and possibly connectivity enabled games (Zelda FS? FFCC?) Everything else should work fine, even maybe the connectivity games..Dragmire said:Anyone know if there are any backwards compatibility issues with Wii? I'm thinking of eBaying my GameCube.
