Official Zelda Minish Cap thread

I've been working on the game over the weekend, and I must say this game is fantastic! Right up there A Link to the Past (I didn't like The Four Swords Adventures as much....too restricting) and one of the best Zelda titles to date!

But right now I'm stuck. Someone help me!

I need to wake up Rem and get the Pegasus Boots. I don't know how to get to Syrup's House in the Minish Woods because all the directions are blocked off by water and/or boulders. I can't find my way! Assist me!

:(

You should use the wind and fly over some holes in lon lon ranch to reach her

I've had it since before Christmas and absolutely love it. Quite different to other Zeldas in so far as the overworld is almost a dungeon in itself and is much more complicated than the open areas you see in the 3D games and LttP to an extent. Map seems small but theres tons to do and lot of side quests. The only problem would be that you may get stuck a couple of times and not know what to do next - but a quick look on Gamefaqs (very quick mind, usually just small hints get you on your way). Highly recommended.

Damn. Fantastic art in those wallpapers.

Hopefully if Nintendo does go through with anime we can see a new Legend of Zelda cartoon.
:lol
You wouldn't be saying that if you saw the old cartoon, or if you played the CDi Zeldas.

The wallpapers are simply stunning. And the game is great too, i got pretty much everything in the game, except for the
lightning arrows
because you only get one chance to get them and i didn't know :(

I screwed up that also.

I got the
light (not lightning) arrows, but didn't realise you could charge them. I swear it never told me that.

:lol did you get the
Mirror shield also?

Where can i find those wallpapers on zelda.com? It appears the Minish Cap site is a little game by itself, you can even unlock stuff (click on the scroll), but i have not unlocked or found anything so far!

Just scroll through the different pages of the Minish Cap website, and every now and then, the Minish Cap will tell you to use a certain item(located in the upper corners) and then you will unlock movies, and the six wallpapers.

I just played with the URL to see if there is a 1600x1200 wallpaper but unfortunately there isn't :(
I got this 404 message instead :)

That's it. We need to have a cel-shaded Zelda game set in the Minish Cap/FS world so we can see more of that. Vaati looks fucking awesome. That art just got me pumped for this game.

amesome game. People will be surprised over the excellent music on GBA!

It's without a doubt the best soundtrack on GBA.

I have a 51 song rip of the music. FANTASTIC stuff.

You abandon the gamecube, but I can tell you'll never abandon the interest for Zelda :D

So has anyone got 99 bombs yet in the US ver?

OR has anyone solved the third house mystery?

Can't do either in the UK version. Lame!

I will be getting the game tomorrow at Circuit City. Went to my local Babbage's during lunch hour, they have the game but they are asking $37.99 :lol and they don't price match other stores. I think one more day won't kill me.

My local Gamestop charged me $35 for it... I didn't notice until I got home because I used a gift card. I almost took it back and waited until today when other stores would start getting it... but I couldn't wait :)

It's been good so far. Not as godly as some of you feel it is (LttP surpasses it easily so far, two dungeons in), but its certainly been good.

Gamespot Review: 9.1

With Zelda games on the big consoles having long ago transitioned to 3D, and with Nintendo's new focus on its 3D-capable DS in the handheld market, it's not too far-fetched to imagine that The Minish Cap will be the last totally original 2D Zelda game. The game easily lives up to its predecessors, with enough questing and variety to keep you entertained for the duration of its storyline and beyond. Whether or not this game represents the end of an era for this hallowed franchise, it's a superb game in its own right that any fan of Zelda, and indeed any Game Boy Advance-owning fan of adventure games, shouldn't be without.

....Dang, he's right ya know... this may be Zelda's 2d swan song.

Went to Circuit City to pick up my copy today, but they didn't have it in stock yet ..... I can't wait to play this game.

D: Gamestop had it for 34.99, didn't realize it until I looked at the reciept at home. To note, I was gonna hit up target, but they didn't have their shipment in yet. Regardless, it's actually been worth every penny! Damn kickass game.

I ordered it online from Future Shop for $39.99 even though it was a bit pricey. :) What other prices have my fellow Canadians bought this game at?

Got mine at EB for $39.99. I expect that Wal-Mart will have it for a dollar or two less, but $39.99 is the standard price everywhere.

Weird.

I've got a whole shitload of EB Gift Certificates...but I'm currently finishing PM:TTYD and have Pikmin 2 and MP2 to play, so I think I'll hold off on Minish Cap and pick it up when my backlog is done.

The game rocks, the combat is fun, the music is awesome, it's slightly too short.

The music in the
ice
dungeon in particular impressed me.

Have u beaten it, if so whats the length?

short Impressions (3 hours in):

- Visuals: Feels like a true successor in the tradition of LttP... Some care and attention to detail went into this folks. There are quite a lot of individual towns-folk with their own set of animations ... and it's also nice how NPC's like the Minish will turn their heads and react to you (WW style) ... And link's little animations are great, his eyes may only be 4 pixels but you can see every little emotion and when he's discussted by the caps monolaugs :lol

- The Map appears VERY small at first, but as you start to shrink you realize it's at least tripple that size (You litterally stroll past/over the first dungeon in big mode)... Also it's very nice how you can zoom in to certain areas of the map and scann around...

- It comes with a HEAVY sense of exploration... As you move across the overmap you'll see little trails and tiny bridges and such that you just know you'll be commin' back to check out once you find a way to get tiny ... it's especially apparent in most little houses and gardens.

- The game appears very user-friendly to newbies ... can't comment on the difficulty yet, and it doesn't really spoon-feed everything to you... but there's plenty of commentary throughout the game so you don't get too lost, very nicely written dialogue that hints at the many many things you can do...

- Kinstones: I'm not a gamer that goes and does all those EXTRA little things, but they're presenting the Kinstones very intuitively .... As you go across the land you'll end up gathering many of them... and if you come across an NPC you can wait to see if a 'thought bubble' pops over their heads, then all you have to do is press 'L' and cycle through your stones and try to match up ... very simple, very fast, and very fun ... I already finding myself going off pace to find NPC's ... and it does in fact, give the NPC's a LOT more character and worth.

The game's awesome so far : ) as soon as you pick it up you'll realize you haven't had that *zelda* feeling in years (since WW)...

The boss in the

dungeon is very cool and different.
Link is flying in the sky

Just picked it up at Circuit City ($23, thanx Wario!), but stuck at work and can't play it till this evening... Ugh!

Man, this is why I hate the UK. It's been out here 2 months, but you won't find it anywhere for less than 25 POUNDS. Why are there never any half decent deals?

Sooo.. who missed out on the Light Arrows? :/ I did sadly :/

and I love the arranged tune for the
royal tomb. Zelda 1 dungeon represent! The entrance with the statue heads even sorta hinted at it.
