Battle of the most recent Disney Channel Original Movies that I can remember. These two were on the Disney channel CONSTANTLY growing up. They're both bad movies with bad acting, and yet I have a nostalgic fondness for both. Neither had a theatrical release, of course.
Smart House (1999)
This one actually had a cool concept. The house is smart and changes based on your needs and wants. The dad kind of has a 'Honey I Shrunk The Kid' ripoff thing going on. Peg Bundy can see into your showers, and the walls turned into televisions which was kind of cool. Unfortunately, it does not turn out to be a horror movie where the house begins killing them off one by one, all the while saying 'Aallllll' Also I think they had a party.
Blank Check (1994)
Kid finds a blank check from some company because they hit his bike. He proceeds to use SUPER HACKER SKILLS to put an insane amount of money on it, though I think it was far less than the amount he would have spent throughout the movie. I think he does it multiple times. It features some guy who looks like Andy Richter and a really sweet house. I think they also had a party.
Or this could just be the Disney Channel Original Movie thread of remembering how terrible these movies actually were. I don't think, even as a kid, that these movies were 'good,' but I just kept watching them. What the hell was the movie about the rich guy who left all his money to the kid who took care of his dog? That one got a lot of airtime too.
