OK, so who doesn't own a tablet here?

Tablets are useless to me. I use my PC for productivity and entertainment, and my smartphone for portability. The middle-ground here is an expensive bulky tablet which is neither very portable nor can it perform any function as well as a PC.

Nope. No smartphone either.

I dont even have a cell phone

Ive a nokia phone, no smartphone. Just a straight call and text phone.

I don't own a tablet or a smartphone.

The only tablet I own is the HP Touchpad from that firesale a while ago. If I'd paid $400+ for this, I'd be one pissed off customer.

Honestly, it adds no functionality to my life. I only check my email wherever I go because I CAN now, not because I need to. When this breaks, I won't be replacing it.

Smartphone + laptop fit my needs. If I had a desktop, then I'd consider replacing my laptop with a tablet. The Surface Pro sure looks nice. (All provided money wasn't an issue, which is not my current situation.)

Nother dinosaur here. Don't own a tablet or a smart phone. Monthly plan fees are just too ridiculous and i dont really need a tablet

I don't have one. I feel that the convenience of the form factor wouldn't be of much use to me.

Edit: And my phone cost me 12€ :lol I value long battery life over doing stuff i can do on multiple other devices.

I have one because I'm taking a class where we're developing on iPads. I don't care for it. I won't be sad when it leaves me in mid-December. It's basically a web browser extended battery.

I don't have a smartphone either. I pretty much just roll with a laptop and Kindle or paperback.

How old are the other people without smarthpones and tablets?

Im very early 20s and have absolutely no interest in smartphones or tablets. My ghetto Nokia does exactly what i need.

I do but I don't use it. It was a gift so I don't feel comfortable selling it or regifting it.

I honestly don't see why people are so crazy about them. I have tiny hands and I still find it nearly impossible to browse and type comfortably.

Late 20s

Im an incredibly cheap bastard though, so spending an ass-load of money just for a bit more convenience is not worth it for me at all

I don't own one. I think they're near, but my phone really is all I need to check my email and GAF when I don't want to use my computer.

Purchased an ipad sometime last year. Outside of my PSP it's the most useless thing I've ever bought. I often have to force myself to even turn the damn thing on. It's pretty much my Words with Friends/Draw something machine.

I already own a smartphone, a PC and a slightly older laptop.

I don't need a tablet for anything.

My first tablet will be the Nexus 10. I'm excited to use a device that's portable, unlike my 8 pound Dell XPS that gets hot enough to fry an egg on.

Smartphones and data plans are fucking ripoffs. The only reason I have an iPhone is because I'm on a discounted family plan. If I had to pay for it all by myself, I'd easily go without it. The only thing I use it for is mindlessly browsing the internet when I'm out of the house. I honestly feel like I'm not worthy of such an incredible device.

Member of the no tablet club and no smart phone club. I do have an iPod Touch, so that takes care of the need for a smart phone.

I don't own one, but the huge explosion of tablet tech everywhere has me intensely interested. I see a lot of people in my classes with tablets too. I would have a Kindle paperwhite by now, but stupid Amazon is completely swamped with orders.

The Nexus 4/7(3G) and Samsung tablets are sexy as hell to me right now. I also don't own a cellphone/smartphone.

I'm 25 and I bought a Playstation Vita over getting a tablet or smartphone....
I don't see the point of these things I don't even take my flip phone with me when I go out half the time Laptop and Pc at home...or Laptop in my backpack I'm good

I don't have one, but I'm really on the edge.

For the longest, I've thought of an ipad as a big iPhone. When I had an iPhone, I felt like I had 0 use for one. Now that I don't have an iPhone, however, something like an ipad is a bit more appealing (because android apps SUCK).

Though I wonder what I would use it for besides apps. In my eyes, tablets are just another content consumption device. Can it really do what my phone does, but better? What can I do besides watch movies and play games? I have a kindle, so reading books on it isn't really appealing. Can it do anything my laptop can't do?

I'm still really thinking about it, but if I can be convinced that it's worthwhile, I'll get one.
