Olivia Munn thread: she suffers from social anxiety and trichotillomania

sharp knee syndrome;

1. Something is generally seen as good.
2. Few people decide that NO ONE TELLS ME WHAT THE FUCK IS GOOD OR BAD. Few people also make themselves see the general opinion above, as a declaration of perfection.
3. Few people have to find insignificant flaws in something, to prove that something is in fact, not perfect!
Wait, what is Munn good at again?
She's a potential swimsuit model who fell into the "nerd" thing who can't act, isn't funny, isn't genuine and, while works hard to sell herself, doesn't have the chops to survive without her looks. She's the new style celebrity, like kim kardashian or paris hilton: a marketable brand like abercrombie and fitch rather than an actress, model, personality, a representation of anything or, for that matter, a human being. If you don't see something fundamentally wrong with that then congrats, you're more numbed and integrated than I am into this shit. Even more so if you can't find something wrong with latching onto these celebrities as idols or anything worth latching onto at all in any way.

I don't recall much hate for Elisabeth Olsen (or a thousand other attractive working actors and actresses), do you? Now what does she have that her sisters and Munn doesn't or vice versa?

If it wasn't for Munn's weird fanbase, she would be just another actress working her way up, and I'm sure, nobody would have an issue with her, because few would remember her name. She would not be a topic. We could, I don't know, access her acting chops like normal people rather than as fanboy vs the world. Wouldn't that be nice?
The same applies to all new-style celebrities. If it wasn't for the weird fanbases, the tmz's, the tabloids, these folk could live their damn lives and wouldn't be shoved into everyone's faces without doing anything to warrant any of the continued attention.
In other words,
She's pretty. So what? If you don't get the hate, look in the mirror.

Bwah?

How is she in anyway shape or form like Kim Kardashian or Paris Hilton? She hasn't done a sex tape, she doesn't have a reality show, she isn't famous or rich because of her parents.

Are you competing with her in auditions or something? Why aren't you complaining about Katherine Heigel or Jennifer Anniston?

Like everyone else in the same situation, leaving G4 was good for her.

I like her and I like her friends :3

Telling an interviewer that you have social anxiety is not going to help you overcome it. Who cares? Also, she may have social anxiety, but when those pics leaked it became very, very obvious that she has NO sexual anxiety.
As someone who suffers from (somewhat crippling) SA and knows a couple of other SA people, I find her "coming-out" to be quite infuriating. She's a (more or less) decent actor, anyone with actual SA wouldn't be able to be a successful actor. On top of that, she's popular and hot, and has a boyfriend with the same attributes. That's more than most people without SA can say. Go cry me a river.

So you don't like stories of people potentially overcoming the same issues you suffer from? That's a little weird.

This seems like a bold claim.
It's utterly fucking false.

Get off it. You don't know how bad her social anxiety is. Maybe she works at it constantly and over came most of it.

I'm not ugly (what the fuck does her being hot have to do with anything), I can talk to girls to a point and I have bad social anxiety. I sweat like crazy at parties and don't know what to do but I can talk to a girl one on one fine and I even have sex with them! OH no, I must not have it either!

I just remember her from Attack of the Show (i believe) when DirecTV actually used to carry G4 for me. She's very attractive, but was kind of a fake gamer, but was still cool. I like her, sucks that she suffers from that, especially since she's in a spotlight. I hope she has a good career ahead of her.

I didn't even know she was on AotS; the first time I've heard of her was from The Newsroom and from what I've seen, she's a decent actress.

After reading about her, I've found that's she's fluent in both Japanese and Vietnamese. I think that's cool, personally

man, me too. fucking hate that. i'm told its because my thyroid died a few years ago and the body is working harder to regulate during moments of stress. still sucks tho.

I have hyperhidrosis which makes my hands sweat like crazy and I guess its mostly because of my anxiety. Shaking peoples hands uhh.

My inner dialogue is usually something like:

"Oh shit, my hands are sweaty and this guys gonna stick his hand out to shake mine."
"Oh shit, I'm worrying about my hands being sweaty so they're sweating more."
"Oh shit, wheres the liquor."

I can tell when I'm completely comfortable in a situation because my hands will be dry.

An undeniably attractive woman.

I don't think she's one of those "fake-geeks". I think she's always sort of hated geek culture, and geeks flocked to that is a sort of masochistic way. I don't think she has any particular talent in any given field besides her looks and her "reputation". I don't think she's capable of looking at anyone or anything without looking like she hates it.

Every time I see a suggestive pic of her, I can't help but stare at it for half a minute despite my (absence of) feelings for her. With all due respect, it's a shame she doesn't do porn.

Olivia Munn is an attractive woman with as far as I've seen from shows & interviews a bif of an off-putting personality. Also she can't act.

But that's never stopped Hollywood before!

I don't have a problem with her. I'm much more annoyed by the vitriol spewing that people spew any time her name is mentioned.

Anyone's butt will look like that if their panties cut off above the cheeks, even a dude's... but it might be hairy. When I say no ass, I don't mean there's just a back that leads into some strange overtly flat slit.

I think I had trichotillomania, I used to pull out my eyelashes a lot when I was younger. I actually became known for it at school, and not in a good way. Having people remind you, "Oh, you're the kid that ripped out all of his eyelashes" gets pretty annoying after a while, especially when people see it as a case of just being weird and not a real disease or disorder.

I don't do it anymore though, thankfully. I stopped a few years ago.

"People tell me, 'Your work won't keep you warm at night,'" Munn told The New York Daily News. "But it does pay for my heat and my down comforter, so it technically does."

Amazing. I <3 her even more now.

But she does have fake eyelashes, so it's not a problem. I have long eyelashes too, girls compliment me on them all the time. Do you want to butterfly kiss eachother?

Man, I have really long eyelashes too. I constantly get compliments from women. It's kinda funny.
