BolognaOni said:He's asking for some supernatural power (太陽の王, god of the sun, something like that) to grant him power. Doesn't really reveal anything, but sounds very ominous, I guess...
At least until he busts out the cheesiest anime cliche possible, and does a "henshin". :lol

el Diablo said:Lol more CG vs. real time skeptics, color me surprised. For as much as you guys bitch about this stuff you'd think you'd learn to differentiate between the two. It's pretty obvious what was CG and what was real time and at least half of that trailer was using the in game engine.
Square could relearn a thing or two, seems they've forgotten how much buzz you can create with a well made trailer that has some in game engine footage sprinkled with some CG. Think the prevailing sentiment on the FFXIII games is that they're more vaporware than anything atm given the supposed delays and total lack of media.

Aldobear (? Dunno), the Sun King and controller of Bamvootz (? dunno)
BolognaOni said:Yeah, I think Aldobear, or Alomeiya, or whatever is a name, the other one is, I think, banbutsu 万物 (everything).
So, not really much info there as to what the story is.
I have to say, the battle system excites me more than the story in that game though.

I think Sony own a significant amount of Level 5, but I'm not sure.ParticleReality said:Sorry if this was asked before but what is the song in the WKS trailer? Something about the song reminded me of Kingdom Hearts. With that said I now claim Level 5 will make KH3 and/or a spin-off.
Oh yeah, Has Sony ever attempted to get level 5 as a first party developer? It would do them a great deal of help in Japan and maybe get us a Legend of Dragoon sequel/remake(I can dream dammit).
I don't think you will be seeing any other platform games from them, except non-Level 5 IPs (like DQ)Sage00 said:I think Sony own a significant amount of Level 5, but I'm not sure.

I should have said consoles.. and big name title. Or just not have said anything.Defuser said:Professor Layton says hi.
You need a PS3 for the PSN trailer they just released.SantaC said:holy shit I need a PS3 for white knight story!
I vaguely remember that this game is at least partly funded by Sony, right? So Level 5 doesn't need to worry too much about the return on investment issue.Pachinko said:world maps are , sadly, dead. I always liked them too and I'd especially love to see a full fledged giant world map now that systems have so much power, I can recall skies of arcadia with it's GIANT world and all the secrets and places it held.
White knight story does look really damn good graphically and it'll probally be atleast mildly enjoyable as an RPG but... the question that nags me is an unfortunate gafism but it's sales potential isn't very high. It kind of suprises me they'd go ahead with the project and build the game becuase going by the trailers it must be in the range of a 20 million dollar project. To merely break even on the investment the game would have to sell 650,000 copies at full price based on a 50% return on retail value. The last level 5 game hasn't even broken half a million and it's budget priced everywhere. Though I suppose the lack of any competition upon it's release will help it's cause a bit. It's not that I want to see the game fail, and perhaps it's only half that much money but it really does look like an expensive game.

trejo said:Man, WKS looks phenomenal and all but, something tells me I'm going to find those "It's morphin' time!" sequences incredibly grating.
Firewire said:Guys is Tekken 5 online up in Japan? I really want to play online! Can anyone give me details?![]()
AltogetherAndrews said:I don't expect I'll even be playing this one, precisely due to such issues. But you can't deny the artistic value on display.
trejo said:Oh, I agree wholeheartedly. The game has fantastic pedigree, it's just that those sequences look lame as hell. Why have such beautiful fantasy setting and locales and then add that power ranger shit.
So I'm the only one that finds the character designs and what seems to be the story incredibly generic? Yes, it has walking cities and mecha-knights, but the details of these things look like they were pulled from an LOTR coffee table book. I really expected more from L5, considering their designs for Dark Cloud and Rogue Galaxy. I know this isn't cell-shaded, but it feels very flat to me. It'll probably play very well, but for someone who doesn't have a lot of time for RPGs anymore, I need more than a drab version of Escaflowne.BobTheFork said:I finally got to see the WKS trailer. Still one of my most anticipated games, outstanding design as usual from level 5.
Sorry. Slight exaggeration on my behalf. I didn't see the Warhawk movie, and I also thought the LBP movie was slick smooth. But Lair, HS, Rachet (sic) and MGS 4 had framerate issues. But yeah, could be the compression or something.kaching said:If you're lumping the Warhawk vid in with that, then it definitely sounds like a problem with the vids, because Warhawk during beta had a smooth framerate.
Honestly, It hasn't bothered me at all in any of the screens or the trailers. If I felt like they were going to something different of the character models and failed, it would bother me. But it looks like they have purposefully set the character models a bit simple to focus on other aspects. Maybe its to make the character customizations easier for them.Aaron said:So I'm the only one that finds the character designs and what seems to be the story incredibly generic?
