One music that really nails the gameplay

We have awesome soundtracks around, but some games just need one music to really set the tone for the whole game. So let's show (hear?) some, Gaf!

Streets of Rage 2 OST - Go Straight
Those beats... Oh, man. You know that you will beat in the whole game.

Doom OST - E1M1 - At Doom's Gate
Frenetic metal? You need to shoot and run. Go!!!

Okami Soundtrack - Ryoshima Plains
Goddammit, this music is so epic that if you close your eyes, you think that you're in a wide field, running in the wild, and the wind is passing through your head... It's magical.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance - Rules of Nature (Platinum Mix)
The tittle says everything: RULES OF NATURE!

''Bloody Tears'' in the Castlevania series
It's kinda morbid, but it's fast and also has a good beat. It fits really well in the Castlevania series

We All Become. Not only was it featured in the reveal, but I believe it to be the most iconic song of the game, and meshes very well with the gameplay. I was so hype when I saw the first cutscene where the song appears. I could also make a case that Impossible or Impossible(hummed version) fit the tone of urgency in the later portions of the game and the challenges.

A part of what makes it amazing is how it transitions into other tracks, but the Windwaker Sailing Music.

No other game music has so thoroughly nailed the 'I'm on an adventure' feel.

Another great pick. I absolutely love Smooth McGroove's version also.

Shadow of the colossus - RevivedPower

Bombastic orchestration that makes your actions more heroic yet the colossis more terrying

For as much hate as Sticker Star gets, it's battle theme absolutely hits home the tone of the game in such a great way.

It's probably cheating say Ocarina of Time who has the best use of music in a game in my opinion.

I say Don't speak Her Name is pretty good from Fire Emblem Awakening.

I say the opening theme from Pokemon Sapphire/Ruby, a gentle beginning then bam it's adventure time

The first time a piece of music ever just crushed me was the first time I set off into the wider world of the original Final Fantasy, a little cut scene played as a crossed the bridge the GOAT theme music started. It was a real ass adventure that started so well right there.

Having just finished alien isolation today there were times when the music. Would kick in and it was just perfect. Have no idea the name of the song.

Lots of games with themes that synch with the scene include Rez, Shadow of the Colossus, Panzer Dragoon Zwei, Nights into Dreams and Mario Kart 8.

But I'd have to give it to Starcraft's Terran theme. It's static, yes, but it just fits the game perfectly. Props also to Daytona USA.

I hope new Doom steals metal riffs too, or has reworked versions of the old soundtrack with new crushing thrashy music. Would be nice if they brought in a few guitarists like they did for Wolfenstien and the dude from Meshuggah.

MORE MESHUGGAH IN ALL VIDEO GAMES

Hard to post them at the moment, but all of the Phoenix Wright games have incredible suites of music that fits perfectly during the court cases.

"Court Begins" at the start
"Cross-Examination" in Moderato and Allegro tempos
"Objection!" when you start going after a witness "Pursuit" when you get them on the defensive
"Confess the Truth" when you make them break
"Logic and Tricks" for important deductions
"Won the Case!" when you win

Every game has their own versions of these, and just listening to them can bring you right back into it.

I'm sure someone would have brought this up soon, of course.

I guess those aren't really one music piece, but play those and you feel like you just went through a trial.
