Because lets be realistic - a world gov would be run by the same guys who have alot of power in the UNO. Do you believe the USA, Russia, China and so on will say" fuck it, we are going to let [insert small country] have the exact same power as we do"?
I think if the majority indians would want that, they would have another gov right now. Given I do not kbow much about their political system, but it certainly isn't looking like a "majority" of people want to change things.

Yes I agree that my ideas are idealistic; I am not saying that this is how it will be but rather it should be the GOAL, and goals are possible, realistic end results. It won't happen overnight.

It is not in the interest of American or Chinese governments to have less power. However it is in the interest of American and Chinese people to have governments and powerful people of the world to be held accountable by a group stronger than their local governments.

And you are very wrong about India. The politicians are corrupt. They would much rather tribal lords do their job for them as long as they continued to get paid and keep their bribes. What do you think the mass demonstrations in Delhi are for? People are sick and tired of their governments just sitting back while people's mothers, sisters and daughters get raped and assaulted on the street. How does the government respond? By quelling the protests use tear gas and hoses. No one is keeping the government responsible for its crimes against humanity.

Even if they vote their government out democratically the degenerate politicians are not going to be tried for their crimes against humanity. Also, the new government speaks the same language as the politicians before him: the language of money, under the guise of a different party. This is why India and a lot for countries are the situation they are in.

The eventual result of capitalism is corporate socialism because the rich and powerful want to keep the power to themselves.

I personally a think a mixed, egalitarian economy is the best kind of economy but of course each nation should have its economy suited to its need. They should all have a common goal though: no one person or group should be too powerful.

Edit: sorry about double post. and yeah what I H8 Memes said. Money and the idea of working hard for it are only temporary realities.

It depends on what you mean by government. One could argue that world wide organisations like UNO have some world wide governmental function, but these organisations are weak. The weakness isn't necessarily bad nor unwanted, the question is how much power we are willing to give an one world government.

At least if we had only one world government we could tax the rich if we needed to without them threatening to "leave the country". Also no more tax havens so companies would have to play on an even field (now only the big companies with enough money to hire an army of accountants and lawyers can truly benefit from these). Though i don't think there is anything stopping money from corrupting this one world government just like it does our current governments.

edit. Oh an i don't think a world government should have a president due to a presidents prime function being in foreign politics and thus being useless. Maybe this could stop from having a single dictator taking control of it.
