Orcs & Elves confirmed for the DS

IGN reviewed it, but right now my computer is screwy. Can anyone tell me the score they gave it?
6.5 Presentation
It's a throwback to the days of the dungeon-crawling dungeonhack adventure. The game's modest in its storytelling.
8.0 Graphics
The overall engine is actually quite impressive, even if it's not used to its fullest extent due to the rigid design. On the downside, enemies are recycled and animate in two or three frame steps.
7.5 Sound
The soundtrack is kept pretty modest, but the game utilizes plenty of well-sampled sound effects.
8.0 Gameplay
There's a guilty pleasure to be had here. You're not getting a huge elaborate production...but you're going to get something that gets straight to the point and is a lot of fun.
7.0 Lasting Appeal
There's a focus on hidden locations and gallery items, but overall the quest is a decent 10 hours or so if you're just blazing through.
8.0
Impressive OVERALL
(out of 10 / not an average)

Awesome score. :D

oops too late

Sorry to bump this thread but I played this game for about 3 hours and it's really fun. It's fast paced and difficulty is good on hard if you are fan of the genre. The story builds up nicely and I really like the old school feel and graphics.

Is anyone else playing the game?.

I beat it on nightmare. So much fun an causes you to think a bit on how you gonna use yuour items.

pro tip:
if you play on nightmare use the elven ale at start to make thing much easier

I went into the South Street Seaport Gamestop today to pick up Front Mission (19.99) for my brother as part of my holiday gift to him.

I walked out with Orcs & Elves as well. Also $19.99, but this one's for me.

Completely independently, my brother phoned me up after work, he was a NJ Gamestop browsing the DS shelves and mumbled something about a $19.99 game with orcs and elves in it, catching his eye.

So... bomba confirmed? $19.99 price drop!

Wow, the combat animations are shockingly and hilariously awful! WTF were they thinking? The sword goes from a static idle sprite to a static extended sprite, without any kind of transition! :lol

Sorry to bump this old thread, but I had a question and the official thread seemed the right place to ask :)

Did any of the US gaffers who bought this game receive the limited orcs&elves stylus stylus? If so, if you want to sell it to me, please contact me, I'll pay good money for it

Oh and btw, where the f is this game for sale in Europe? I seriously haven't seen it anywhere, I didn't even know it was released yet over here

It's a port of a cellphone game, which would explain the iffy animations.

Except the game was improved, visually. Fucking add another frame or three of animations. It isn't that difficult.

Bump. (wasn't worth a new thread i guess)

Just discovered Orcs and Elves. WOW.

I was in the mood for some old school dungeon crawling or something like that and then there was this co-worker of mine playing that game. I wasn't aware of it existance at all, didn't know it was made by ID software. ID knows their shit. I'm having a blast with the game, it fits perfectly with the mood i was in. Makes me think about Heretic, Hexen or something. Very old school and feels like a tactical RPG at the same time. Dungeon Explorer redux (kinda)

Anyways, i'm flabergasted by this game and ashamed to play an EA published game but what can i do? IT'S GREAT.

Yes, the game is fantastic. It's an old school dungeon crawl mixed in with the fast moving magic of the early iD FPS titles.

I recommend it to anyone who loves either of the genres.

It makes me -really- want to play DoomRPG. Has there been a port of that announced?

Just completed it.
Nice lil game.
Too bad Wolfenstein RPG was cancelled for DS.

Wasn't Wolfenstein DS going to be a normal multiplayer-focused FPS, restricting the player to horizontal camera movement like in the original game.

Nope, I believe the planned Wolf version for mobile/DS was Wolfenstein RPG.
