Ordered an Xbone with Kinect ... are any Kinect games worth playing?

But Kinect is not only for gaming. I use it for voice commands (this is huge!) and to control my media Center. Just say xbox on to turn everything on.
XBOX Mute to mute everything, xbox volume up, xbox volume down etc. this is so awesome!

and remember to calibrate it correctly!

Though the voice commands are handy if you don't have too much dashboard work to do, so that might make it worth it.

The best part of Kinect isn't the games but how it's integrated into the OS. Voice commands are fantastic, however it also does a bunch of other stuff. You can set it up to automatically turn your tv on and off with the system, it'll put the controller into a low power state when it sees you put it down, it can control your cable box etc.

The only Kinect game I play is using it to play/pause stuff in Netflix and getting annoyed when it doesn't auto sign me in when I'm wearing contact lenses instead of glasses

As a voice interface it's pretty handy though, I underrated how much I'd use the thing when I bought an Xbone

Will I benefit from this voice stuff much if I turn off my xbox completely? I put all my entertainment electronics on a power strip that gets turned off when I'm not using the system. So Xbox turn on ain't gonna happen. But will be be useful once turned on?

In all honesty no, but that's not the only/primary function for the kinect on Xbox One.

I gave up on Kinect games after Steel Battalion.

I don't have this problem, maybe try adding your glassesless face to the Kinect's recognition memory.

Xbox fitness is great and so is dance central spotlight...

Also fantasia looks really good...

Kinect sports rivals was pretty bad though imo but the avatar generator is pretty hilarious.

It's not just for games though... It has an IR blaster which if you want to use any of the TV stuff is vital and it is a camera which is a must for Skype and twitch streaming. Also the voice commands are and facial recognition are incredibly useful.

Yes, you'll get all the usefulness. Xbox on doesn't really ever seem to work for anyone very well anyways for some reason.

Once the console turned on voice commands can be very useful for fast switching between applications and games.
If you use your Xbox for TV watching, it's also a good way to go to specific channels, mute/pause/unpause a movie, or open the OneGuide (voice and gestures are the best way to navigate it on your main screen)

Those are the kind of commands I use the most anyway : watch TV, snap success/TV, unsnap, switch, mute, pause/resume, watch channel_xyz, go to game_name, record that ... (I'm not a big Twitch user, but I suppose "broadcast" can be useful too)

When I weighed my options, the only games that popped up as being potential reasons for going with the Kinect bundle, were Fantasia and D4. So I've decided to not get the Kinect bundle.

But, those games I guess.
Fantasia looks like maybe it could be pretty cool, or it might end up something that doesn't really grab you. It's hard to tell.
D4 will be playable without Kinect, but might have some cool/stupid interactions.
And I believe you're getting a voucher for Dance Central with all Kinect bundles(?), maybe just in certain regions, I dunno.

For how hard they initially pushed the Kinect, it's weird how there were barely ever any Kinect games really.
edit Never heard of FRU before.

An $100 dollar microphone. lol

I've never seen a microphone that can turn on my XB1, my TV, my AV receiver and my DirecTV receiver simply by me saying two little words. If you can find me one and it costs significantly less than $100 I will gladly "lol" along with you.
