I specifically looked for this image a few months ago, without knowing it existed.

My search:

"American flag guns eagle smoking"

Of course it existed.

As someone who's been to the US plenty of times, Americans (or at least the obnoxious flag-waving minority of them) and their patriotism are like that guy who won't fucking shut up about how great his car is.

It may be old and falling apart, rattles constantly, and is in serious need of a tune-up, but damn, it's some "glorious" '67 Chevy that he pulls out of his garage every weekend, and makes sure all the neighbours see him polishing it. He's had it since he turned 18, and he's got pictures of it on the wall of his den. All the people at the office are sick of hearing about it, but it's still the thing that gives his life meaning.

Meanwhile, everyone else is driving modern cars that actually have good gas mileage and safety features, and don't feel the need to talk endlessly about them.

Patriotism is within an individual's heart and mind, it's is what makes US 'great'. It adds to America's soft power advantage over any other country in its ability to determine persuasion and influence over other cultures.

Isn't the word "patriotism" basically another word for "nationalism" that's only used by America?

That's not an example of what this thread is about. That's a take on Hunter S. Thompson.

Hey look, it's that "general" guy that kept losing until the French came and saved his ass.

I seem remember France's own revolution didn't turn out as great as ours.

Not like they needed us or anything.

Too bad the French couldn't save themselves, and instead got a non-French guy to bring order to their own country.

we share the same national animal with USA(ours looks better though).

but we don't praise it in every second taken photo. it's just a fucking bird.

Obviously you guys don't love THE BIRD as much as us. It's cool.

the eagle is symbolic of the spirit, of ascent, reaching higher

the snake is the chthonic
the earth the blood the mother

its ancient symbolism not really american

Here in America we manufacture truth and export it to the rest of the world, buddy.

I rest my case.

Now I shall tell the tale of when Abraham Lincoln defeated the Nazi's in The Great War.

Right after we were attacked in 1812.

Just look at that motherfucker. He gives no shits.

America's badassary could only be portrayed by this bird alone.

Ugh, it looks like it's on some ash-gray sweatshirt. that has to be the worst color of shirt to print something on that's not a distressed university name in slab serif font.

Yeah you're right. I didn't realize it was probably on a shirt until now. Dig the image though. Should've been done on white.
