that's weird, especially coming from blizzard. I thought it would be left there for years at least.
Nah dude but seriously, a videogame is a product while a concert is a service, they don't have anything to do with each other.
Games like Overwatch, League of Legends, Wow... are Game-as-a-Service (GaaS) because you may have the client part but not the server part which is only provided as a service.Well if someone ever charges you 100 dollars for a dead dude's concert then yeah, money stolen.

Games as a SproductGAAS stands for...?
That is the problem. Video games are becoming a service.Well if someone ever charges you 100 dollars for a dead dude's concert then yeah, money stolen.

What the hell happened to Overwatch? When it came out I remember the IP being pretty damn popular. The characters were everywhere, there were talks of a movie, and then after a year it just faded it obscurity.

There is no such thing. Overwatch is Overwatch. This is Overwatch's latest big update.gotta funnel people into the new game and charge for characters this time
Some are more driven by it than other people. What do you mean no? you are an animal. Sex, survival, and eating are hardcoded into your brain and pull your strings just as much as your thoughts do.
Don't care what the marketing dudes say, it's still a product.GAAS stands for...?
Battle Royale happened.
Woke, lootboxes and greed happened. What the hell happened to Overwatch? When it came out I remember the IP being pretty damn popular. The characters were everywhere, there were talks of a movie, and then after a year it just faded it obscurity.
Woke? I've played the game since the beta and I never once heard Peggy McIntosh screaming at newbs to change their roleWoke, lootboxes and greed happened.

October 2nd will be the final day you'll be able to play the original Overwatch.

The 2nd one is f2p with lot of new and exciting microtransactions.I'm kinda annoyed by this. I bought 2 copies on ps4 and pc and that game I bought just goes away? Do I at least get a discount on 2?
I'm getting really tired of game developers catering thier entire game to esports. That's ignoring the vast majority of your user base, it doesn't make much sense to me.What happened was Blizzard started catering the game towards the pro players and in the process they turned what was originally a casual, good time game into a miserable pit of raging try-hards.
It's what killed OW.I'm getting really tired of game developers catering thier entire game to esports. That's ignoring the vast majority of your user base, it doesn't make much sense to me.
Like, "I ate a bowl of beans and onions salad and now I have GAAS".GAAS stands for...?
Not really , since you had the experience of being at a concert.Pay 100 dollars for Beethoven concierto.
Beethoven leaves after 3 hours.
100 dollars stolen.

Are you telling me it's worse than LoL?Also, it has one of the if not most toxic player base. Never in my whole (internet/multiplayer shooter) life have I've seen such miserable low lifes.
you can only buy rare or epic non-event skins with OW1 coins. Also, I'm guessing all my lootbox stuff and unlocks carry over to the sequel.
Okay, but I meant all the things I've already unlocked. All my skins and voices and stuff. I should Google and make all my stuff gets carried over and not simply deleted out of hand when they transition existing players from OW 1 to 2.you can only buy rare or epic non-event skins with OW1 coins.

Are you fine with those kind of practices? Paying full price for a game and getting it taken away from you?
Not really , since you had the experience of being at a concert.
The most based OW haterHope the 2nd one bombs hard. Can't stand the fanbase lol
I know I'm being petty
No, it's a scam. They are selling you the game as a product (asking 60€ for it) and then trying to make it pass for a service. while having the audacity of trying to do the same a second time with Overwatch 2.It's not a marketing term. It's a classification.
Speak for yourself lol. Games like DOOM from fucking 1993 still have a community, one which will probably last much longer than Overwatch's.All games get taken away from us. Hardware failure, boredom, indifference...no game lasts forever. Overwatch simply lasted longer than most.

Sorry but I don't have any respect for people who are fine with this. Like imagine having a shelf full of games you can't play, who wan't that?
Look at games like WoW or LoL. Those games are services since they don't ask you any money for downloading the client. You pay for either the time you are enjoying the service (like a concert) or for some added stuff like skins or whatever.

Doom is garbage? What the fuck did I just read?Overwatch 2 is free to play.
You misunderstand. Doom has zero interest to me and basically everyone else on planet earth. It's essentially garbage. I'll never play it again. Overwatch 2 will still be played by millions of gamers.
Cool, didn't know that. Still, this situation with OW 1 is a total scam.Overwatch 2 is free to play.
Fuck off.You misunderstand. Doom has zero interest to me and basically everyone else on planet earth. It's essentially garbage. I'll never play it again. Overwatch 2 will still be played by millions of gamers.
Yes. It's laughably terrible. Which is why no one plays it today.Doom is garbage? What the fuck did I just read?
What's the scam? Overwatch 2 is free to play and everyone's skins and emotes are transfering over from O1. Literally no scam.Cool, didn't know that. Still, this situation with OW 1 is a total scam.
Truth has to matter.Fuck off.![]()
You are a fool who doesn't knwo what he's talking about. Google a bit about the WAD scene or the Cacoawards if you are really interested.Yes. It's laughably terrible. Which is why no one plays it today.
Paid products (specially those at a high price) should never be taken away from the customer. What's the scam? Overwatch 2 is free to play and everyone's skins and emotes are transfering over from O1. Literally no scam.
Truth matters yeah. Your opinion about DOOM being garbage doesn't.Truth has to matter.
Bruh, what? People still play the classic DOOM games to this very day. The games still have a very active modding scene too.Yes. It's laughably terrible. Which is why no one plays it today.
