I know opinions differ but people who keep calling out Zarya HotS skins just seem to be victims of wanting what they can't have. Her HotS skins are hideous imo. That one looks like some Warhammer monstrosity.

Not sure I follow what you mean, but I just want Zarya to get some better skins. She hasn't really gotten an amazing legendary skin yet. At least the one in the Heroes of the Storm actually has something to do with the Overwatch lore. The last one she got just added camo sleeves to an existing epic...

IMO Overwatch has the worse skins in any game I played. I can't put my thumb on it but I've felt since day one that the skin designs look awful. I do not get the urge to get any OW skin. That Zarya skin looks terrible and she is an important hero. Everything else blah

That Zarya skin could be great with a couple tweaks like losing the gold colour on the mask and the huge padding on the legs.

Characters like Zarya always have their skins shat on by half the playerbase (and presumably will in the future - I don't see a universally loved skin coming out) yet I don't hear a ton of whining about Zenyatta or Winston skins or whatever.

Maybe it's just hard to make Zarya look good. Is there some fan concept for her that was popular online that seemingly everyone loved?

Her default skin and variants look fine. Midnight is especially great.

I was personally hoping for a Zarya Legendary that basically makes her into Aliens Jenette Vasquez, complete with red bandanna, black war paint, and her particle cannon is redesigned to resemble that awesome mini gun from the film.

It would look awesome when paired with a Commando/Black Ops 76

That loose hair zarya basic is great but blizzard is probably like "we can't make her too pretty".
