Pachter: no PS4 at E3, no Xbox Next or PS4 in 2013.

There’s been a lot of Internet buzz of late regarding an MCV story that states that both Sony and Microsoft will show off PlayStation 4 and the next Xbox at E3 2012 this June in Los Angeles. But according to videogame analyst Michael Pachter of Wedbush Morgan Securities, that’s not going to happen.

“I think there’s zero chance of a tease from Sony for PlayStation 4 and only a 20 percent chance from Microsoft that they’ll tease the next Xbox,” said Pachter. “Neither console is launching in 2013, so there’s no reason to tease them in 2012.”

Even Nintendo, which is launching its HD Wii U later this year, waited until E3 2011 to show off the device. Nintendo will also have the new console at CES 2012 in Las Vegas January 10-13.

It's Pachter, so you can bank on it.

I think we probably won't get either, but I just think someone's gonna wanna rush to do it just to crap on Nintendo.

I'd be happy if the prediction comes true. That said, it's a load of shit. We'll definitely see the next batch of Sony and Microsoft consoles at least by next year.

Sorry but I believe MCV more than Pachter. They have supposedly a source, he is just pulling this out of his ass.

If the next gen is 2014, I can safely say that this gen is the shittiest, most painfully drawn out gen ever.

Underpowered at launch and no successor hardware in 9 years.

loooooooooooooooooooooool

Since Pachter has never been right about anything, him saying there won't be there sounds like more confirmation of them being there to me.

Patcher is thinking like an analyst, and in a way, it's logical considering both PS3 and Xbox 360 are doing extremely well. But then again, Sony and MS will not allow Nintendo to thrive without any competition, and that too for 2 years? No way.

I knew it was just a matter of time before the king troll came out to give his opinion. I'm actually gonna go with the unnamed source on this one and expect to hear something about the new consoles at E3.

If we've learned anything this gen, it's that analysts are terrible at predicting what's going to happen in this industry.

Except these types of predictions aren't really his job.

Yep, he just enjoys pulling shit out of his ass and watching us freak out over it.

He's an idiot if he really think there is any chance that we aren't seeing a new Xbox in 2013. PlayStation I'm not so convinced of yet.

His logic comes from the current fertile environment not only for developers but for console manufacturers who are profiting from current consoles. Its perfectly logical. I believe, using historical statistics, that we are overdue for the arrival of "next-gen" and disagree with his statements. I fully believe we will see Xbox Next for a 2013 release (perhaps late?) on E3, though I am dubious about a PS4. Maybe a hint or two?

Who to believe...
MCV or their source could possibly be pulling it out their ass. Same goes for Pachter though he's slightly more likely to be basing it out his ass. One is a news site, the other is a supposedly well respected analyst. One is Pachter.
Given this information I can safely conclude that the PS4 will be shown at E3 and XB3 will be shown at CES and both launching in 2012 together with WiiU.

People actually find credibility in Pachter? Wow.

Speaking of Pachter's predictions, did we ever get any official smug and smarmy statement from him when WiiU was announced, as in "I told you so!"? Because all this time I was expecting that to happen no matter when the announcement was made.

It was basically a "Too Little Too Late should have come out in 2008 like I said!" type of schtick.

Don't worry. Once the Wii U out, you will see lot of moaning why MS and Sony haven't move to next gen.
