aaaaaaaAAAAAAAAGHHHHH this movie

still cant believe it got greenlit, this is the world I wanna live in where stuff like this happens

That's what I thought. It's not possible guys.

NOT. POSSIBLE.

I'm impressed the boat staying in one piece is the one logistically impossible piece of plot you decide to nitpick from this trailer.
Anyway, easy explanation is that in this universe that necessitated the construction of huge robots to fight giant alien invaders (that arise from the sea no less), perhaps boat fabrication techniques advanced so that normal freighters had at least a fighting chance of staying in one piece of one of these creatures came upon it.

In any event this was amazing!! I love the look of it.

I think this exceeds my credible suspension of disbelief especially since the tone of the trailer seems to be going for a realistic take. The thing that got me was swinging that ship. Ships do not have an internal structure strong enough to support their own weight in a cantilever configuration. I mean I am ok with the giant robots since that is the central conceit of the movie, but the ship as a bat was too much.

Am I being neurotic?
You'll probably get a lot of flack for this (and seemingly already have), but that was honestly the first thing I thought too.

Not the robot carrying it, nor the big ass monster that will get smashed with it, but the problem is the boat itself, because ain't realistic?

God, I hope they don't pull an Independence Day and only show the Americans winning or using their mech properly. I want to see joint tactics.

damn, this movie is gonna bomb big time.

I don't know it, there are also giant robots that would need immense amounts of power to move controlled in parallel by two pilots fighting aliens that arose from the depths of the ocean.

Looks great. They should have shown some of that in the first trailer which sucked and gave the film no buzz at all

And it's coming out so soon too. Bad job marketing this

I don't usually say literally... but I LITERALLY YELLED "WOOOO" when da giant robot held an oil tanker.... My gawd. My goodness gracious.

They needed to show something as we were heading to May and since the trailer it's been pretty quiet other than some viral stuff on FB. Glad they showed the WonderCon footage.

To those considering this will essentially be a live-action Evangelion I think the quote on Evangelion's TV Tropes page sums it up best: "This is a giant robot saga the same way Twin Peaks was a cop show"

This movie will easily do $500mil WW at least.

Just needs that marketing, but, and it kinda pains me to say this, but money is money, it will get a huge chunk of the transformers crowd, which got the last TF film over a billion.

I really hope it does do well. I want an Eva movie.

I think this movie will do well by Word of Mouth and bluray sales. I just hope it doesn't get bumped out of cinemas like other GDT movies have (Hellboy 1 & 2 only ran for 2 weeks here, Pan's Labyrinth never even made it to the silver screen).
