looks horrible.

Is it just me, or are the main characters of all the big games coming out this year featured on the box art in exactly the same pose, just a different camera angles.

I think it looks ok. Altho the blue characters gives more of a futuristic feel than an ancient feel in my opinion.

Yeah a yellow/brown would of been better imo.

Are you thinking of the time traveling rumors? If so, its been confirmed that there is no time traveling in the game ;)

i do remember, from some of the videos we've seen, that when the character dies this futuristic menu-ish type of thing comes up with all these numbers. that looks pretty futuristic compared to the rest :p

Ye, there was some rumors about time traveling, but there was an interview with Jade Raymond and she said there was no time traveling in the game. Maybe we're up for a suprise? ;) Doubt it tho.

I thought it was pretty much confirmed that it has some connections with the future, e.g the main character is stuck in a machine that sent his mind back or something. I also recall reading that it will be a trilogy where one of the sequels will take place in the future (but now that I think about it I can't recall at all where I actually read that).

Wasn't the whole 'futuristic' thing implying that it takes place in a Matrix-like cyberspace? That's what I thought it was. Hence, no time travel necessary.

The PS3 box looks slightly better, because there's no green in addition to blue and red. Having a primary color on every box was a dumb decision in terms of aesthetics IMHO. Anyway, it's a standard main character + arrangement + text style thing. Not horrible at all, but not very unique either.

Well at least it's not showing a guy pointing a gun at you slightly to the right. That was getting quite old.

I havnt followed the case around the time traveling that much, but there was an interview (which i unfortunatly cant find now, im 99.99% sure i've seen it (i can't have dreamt it hehe), anyone got a link to it?) with Jade Raymond where she said there would be no time travelig.

I'm not saying there's time traveling but there are connections to the future, found some information on wikipedia here around the 4th paragraph.

Looks generic and too photo-y, like most of the Tom Clancy stuff.
I expected/wanted something more artistic.

Oh well, as long as the game is good I can live with it. It's strange though how many bad box arts there are.

don't worry, the shinkawa mgs4 boxart will look delicious.

Ye, i guess not everything is 100% confirmed yet, i just noticed that she said no time traveling in an interview. I also hope they follow up on the trioligy, the game looks pretty sweet :)

Yeah, pretty boring. But there's only a handful of publishers that ever put out nice boxart, and even then it's a rare event. This isn't nearly as bad as that Bioshock mock-up.

I don't see why the logo needs to be so big on all these boxarts. I like the logo, I like the general concept of the idea they are trying to portray with the art, it's just that the end result is not artistic at all. GIANT game logo. GIANT Ubisoft logo. Why not be more subtle? Are people NOT going to be able to find the game on the shelf without a huge logo?

Nothing wrong with that. I think publishers who respect their product and audience should put more effort into their box art.
