‘Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare’ (-64%) starts 2017 just as it ended 2016 – at No1.

It is the 8th week that Activision Blizzard’s blockbuster has grabbed top spot and if it holds on for another week it will equal the 2nd highest number of All Formats No1s for a Call of Duty title, matching ‘Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’. However, it still has a way to go to equal front runner Black Ops III’s 11 weeks of No1s. ‘FIFA 17’ (-72%) holds on to No2 ahead of ‘Grand Theft Auto V’ (-66%) which continues to creep up the chart, climbing one place to No3. Another retailer price promotion on ‘Forza Horizon 3’ (-5%) propels it back in to the Top 10, up from No12 to No5. ‘Pokemon Sun’ (+91%) leaves ‘Pokemon Moon’ (-19%) in the shade as renewed stock gives it a boost ahead of its sister title; pushing it back in to the Top 10 for the first time since W49 last year, up from No36 to No9. New stock also gives another Nintendo title a boost with renewed sales from the 2DS hardware bundle pushing ‘New Super Mario Bros. 2’ (+77%) back in to the Top 40, at No37.

yay thanks for the thread.

FH3 with -5% reching 5th place means the unit number dropped a lot across the board... expected for January... we reached the 4 digits sales for 90% of the games I guess.

It is nice to have the weekly percentage changes back, new year, new life.

Hopefully we will able to somehow track the batch of niche Japanese games that will be coming during the next months.

Some LTD data:

Pokémon Sun / Moon > 500,000
Rocket League > 250,000
Final Fantasy XV, Dishonored 2, Titanfall 2 < 250,000

UK 3DS software sales in 2016 were up 25% compared with 2015.

2011 - ?
2012 - ?
2013 - 2,476,000
2014 - 1,887,000
2015 - 1,344,000
2016 - 1,680,000

Given the price cut to £25 everywhere, I was expecting a much bigger jump for TLG. Gutted :(

Why has FH3 had such a lift? EDIT: Retailer price promotion, I should learn to read.

WOW @ FFXV

Must be huuuuuge sales to come 2nd in December.

FFXV sadly dropping like a rock in the UK, showing perhaps limited appeal now outside the fanbase that bought it at launch.

Unless that december chart is counting Nov 29th, its not even tracking its day 1 sales. Launch month or not, competing with the big AAA games in december is very impressive for a game like Final Fantasy.
This is November chart... yes December is the launch month (it is write NEW).

It's November. December is missing the 3 first days of sales =)
Nope... December chart is the launch month for FFXV in Germany.... it is even wrote NEW in the December chart lol

Final Fantasy XV sold in Germany over 100,000 units in its first week, I find very likely that by now its cumulative sales have reached 200,000 units.

December or January BIU Sales Awards will confirm this.

UK sales are in the same ballpark, we don't know how it has performed in France (The Lascar hopefully will provide us with some data) but I figure out it won't be too far from UK and Germany, France loves jrpg's. With just these 3 regions I speculate that retail sales will be around 600,000 units or more, add Spain (45,000 first 2 weeks), Italy and other regions and the million mark shouldn't be too far.

Edit - It showed 100k award for PS4 only in November BIU news... cool... let't if it can reach 200k combined or PS4.

Forza ! This has got to be the best performing Forza released so far surely.

I'm getting my PGR & Rallisport fix with this game, so damn good.

Really curious about how much Horizon 3 has been sold now.

More than gears of war 4 in uk (according to my analysis)
And it's already the fastest selling forza game worldwide
China was the #2 region behind na for the windows 10 version

That is afaik all microsoft said to forza horizon 3 performance

I hope holiday sales gave Watch_Dogs 2 a decent enough sales push. The game was pretty neat and i'd hate for the franchise to vanish, especially considering i'm a fan of how they evolved the franchise, tone-wise.

Seriously why is GTAV still selling?

- It's not very good
- It's four years old
- Who seriously hasn't played it who wanted it?

The first point is not exactly true for all... the game is pretty good and the online vicious.

It is the default puschase of most new console owners.

Ubisoft's 2015 Christmas hit was Assassin's Creed Syndicate, which sold almost half a million units during that year. 2016's big release, Watch Dogs 2, is still a little off from that target (although Syndicate launched four weeks earlier in its year).

http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articl...ames-market-suffers-13-4-percent-drop-in-2016

Watch Dogs 2 should be around or close to 400,000 units.

A good recovery considering it debuted selling a paltry 80,000 units.

Really glad to see Horizon 3 still doing so well on home ground. Playground deserves all the success it's getting.

Infinite Warfare is only selling well because they've been dropping the prices of Infinite Warfare like mad and so quick must've bombed hard at first even the legacy edition including COD 4 can be had around £40 or less if your lucky which was like over £70 at launch
Black Ops 3 didn't drop prices that significantly and that quickly it did much better at a higher price point

Yeah XV sales in UK are no gettin disappointin.

Below Elder Scrolls remaster is baad :(

FF XIII sold around 235k first month in UK retail and XV did over 250k. I don't know how that can be disappointing after all the doom and gloom around the title. With digital sales it's even more ahead of XIII.

- That's not true it's one of the highest rated by critics and fans
- A testament to its quality
- Again, a testament to the quality of thier sandbox gameplay, it continues to remain fresh due to all the staisfying options available

It's a masterpiece, I re-bought it full price a few months ago because I missed the world and the humour. Well deserved sales.

FFXV did LESS than 250k for 2016 (6 weeks).

How much less? Nobody knows because they stopped to share % in holidays.

Oh. So it seems. Missread the posts of Bruno. Still it had decent hold over the holiday weeks (going by its position in weekly charts during those weeks) so it probably shouldn't be that much lower.

It's all relative. Skyrim and TES is a bigger franchise than FF, at least in the west. At this point it is safe to say that Skyrim Remaster has done really well and outsold several big AAA releases this holiday season.

Clearly millions of other people who have different tastes from you. Odds are that for every new PS4/X1 sold 1/4 owners are buying GTAV.

Less than 250K not more.

XIII actually did amazingly well in UK generally sales wise, so XV below it is disappointing in a way but not poor sales at all.
