Developing: Swedish publisher Paradox has purchased “White wolf and all properties” from EVE Online firm CCP – effectively putting paid to the latter’s long-planned release of a World Of Darkness MMO. This also means that Paradox now owns Vampire: The Masquerade.

The cat is out of the bag: Paradox Interactive has bought White wolf and all properties from CCP. Very very very exciting.

We've been huge fans of the white wolf IPs for a long time especially World of Darkness/Vampire. Gonna be great to give it some fresh blood.

Great news, World of Darkness deserves a whole lot better treatment in games than it's gotten since Vampire: The Masquerade.

CCP had some really cool ideas for WoD from what they spoke of and showed for a few years but it's not really feasible to do right now after they did extensive research (they basically wanted a player-driven sandbox with vampires, cults, etc in the vein of how EVE is a player-driven sandbox). Since they aren't doing anything with it now I am glad they sold it to people that will hopefully do something with it.

I dunno... I've learned not to get my hopes up in the slightest when it comes to WoD/VtM. I mean, I'd love to have hope.
