I don't have to google it, I had one last year. It looks alot worse that it feels, but it felt pretty f'n bad. I still have scars from it. I wouldn't wish that on anyone.
Yea. But only a small percentage of people will suffer from necrosis(sp?) the rotting of the flesh. A friend of mine apprantly attracts these things in his sleep...been bitten twice, neither time resulted in the flesh rot.

I was bitten in the leg by a brown recluse or something similar in college. The necrosis left a hole in my leg for about a month before it healed. I've got an oval M&M-sized scar there that doesn't have much feeling. I forgot to beat someone afterwards, though.

Was this actually due to the spider bite? It sounds like the bite just got him sent to the hospital where they tested his nerves and realized they could be rehabilitated...
Also, is the OP quadriplegic or just a funny coincidence?
