Here's what you don't do if you want to keep your Steam Partners access:

What was so frustrating, you ask? He moved the game out of Early Access, but its spot in Steam's "carousel" mistakenly referred to it as an Early Access title (an error that lasted less than three hours at the absolute most).

There was a better way to go about it rather than go on twitter and shout like a baby.

Pretty much.

Raging publicly on Twitter is a damn quick way to burn bridges. Only do so if you don't care that the bridge is burned.

He could have, I don't know, contacted Valve about this instead of sending death threats?

he seems too petulant for that. "I can't believe I HAVE TO put my game on STEAM because of their DUMB MONOPOLY"

Gotta love how he throws Humble under the bus, too, saying that his game is on there too, but profits can be made only on Steam.

Sounds like a great guy to work with.

here are the other tweets, quoted them in case he wants to remove them too

ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME STEAM? WE JUST RELEASED OUT OF EARLY ACCESS AND THIS IS OUR FRONT PAGE BANNER?

https://twitter.com/SpooderW/status/524213797805125632

First they force me to delay the game because I can't release on weekends, now this. Steam is the most incompetent piece of fucking shit.

https://twitter.com/SpooderW/status/524213891229052928

fucking steam is just fucking taking money out of my pocket. misinforming people that my game is in fucking early access.

https://twitter.com/SpooderW/status/524217374116179968

I am so FUCKING DONE DEALING WITH FUCKING INCOMPETENT SHITS.

https://twitter.com/SpooderW/status/524217432295362562

By the time they fix this we'll no longer be on the front page, and their response will be "oh well"

*insert the kill tweet*

I hope by the time my next game comes out steam doesn't have this awful fucking monopoly anymore.

What?

This game was great. Both parties are acting like babies.

Wait, this was the title which had a massive fuck up caused by steam as well. Can't remember the details but they couldn't launch the game for some reason.

See:

Maybe he should stop acting like he's 6.

Removing a product from steam because the dev is acting like a baby seems a bit childish to me and only serves to create more anger.

Childish? How? He's acting like a 6 year old.

btw I was searching for threads about him, because I'm sure this isn't the only incident involving him. Like when he was abusing his customers when they complained about the game and its lack of progress and when he beat up his ex-GF? Anyone?

After watching Indie Game The Movie and seeing how the Meatboy guys reacted to the MS store fuckup, I can understand his frustration. It sounds like those early hours/days are critical to a game's success. But yeah, obviously he should have handled it much much better....
