Parasite Eve 3rd Birthday COMING TO THE PSP!

Maybe, but there's more of us, which is what matters in business. :D
You are smaller and less significant than you will ever believe.

You however, matter more than anyone else in the world. :lol

(I really hope you don't honestly think I think they're going to change it just because of some people venting on a message board. Because I really, really don't)

Great. Parasite Eve 3 isnt a cinematic RPG:

FUCK YES!! IT'S LIKE PE2!!! ALL OVER MY FACE!!!

....

According to project director Hajime Tabata, this PSP Parasite Eve sequel is going to be a true 3D gun action game. Noting that it will differ from Final Fantasy VII Dirge of Cerberus, he described it as a "true third person shooter."

Yeah I already whined about this in the Famitsu PS3 thread. It's really disappointing that they're expanding on PE2 instead of PE1 even after everyone on the team said they prefer the original back when the game was announced on cellphones. :(

I also want to know what this other studio they're collaborating with is. Sounds like something dodgy like Cavia. :/

Just for the record, the game is not going to be entirely a TPS. It's still an action RPG, they were talking about the battles in particular. Still, disappointing.

So it will be like DoC ? Man SE , way to kill off the hype...

I dunno, and we won't know until they show something solid on it. But yeah, the hype over "omg new Parasite Eve!" is pretty much killed now. They'll need to have some pretty impressive previews and gameplay systems now to get us back on the bangwagon. :lol

Whats up with the gameplay of SE games these days? Except TWEWY they all suck and its a gackt fest. I don't even know why I wasted time on Crisis Core. I was so young...

There's a little bit more info on The 3rd Birthday in the long Nomura interview in Dengeki PS this month.

- He confirms again that the game is being developed by a development studio outside of S-E. The characters, story, gameplay system, etc is being developed internally, but it seems the actual game will be developed by another studio.

- The scenario has been completed.

- The TV drama style narrative is still a part of the game.

- The game will feature RPG elements, but will largely be a Third Person Shooter. Nomura wants to expand on the weapon customization elements introduced in the first two PE games.

I don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing :(

I also find it disappointing given a chance to revisit a franchise that isn't Final Fantasy, Square decides to take a questionable path. Nobody wants a shooter game, and giving it to another development studio? I don't even want Square to revive the Chrono series... They might turn it into a puzzle game. I'll wait to see how it turns out though.

To be fair, PE2 was already a shooter. So it's not like it's a completely different direction. I didn't know anyone liked PE2 over PE1 though, but judging from this thread alone, there are a few weird ones. :lol

To me, PE2 felt like a cool hybrid of a third person shooter/horror adventure/RPG. If the 3rd birthday is like this, im perfectly happy. Im just worried about who is going to be "developing" it exactly. Shame, I was really hoping Nomura's boys would fully make this.

i dont see how SE thinks that making PE3 more of a shooter will help it on the psp.

the system for the first one, which oddly enough is kinda similar to the crisis core system, would be much better for the psp.

Same here. ^^

Hey...! Now, hold on a second there, buddy...! What's wrong with Cavia...? >:(

Ugh... its gonna be like PE2? :(

I never got far in PE2 because I was lending out my memory card out when I picked it up, and while I was disappointed by the changes they made, it didn't seem all that bad from what I saw.

I'm disappointed to hear that this is the direction they're going down, though. While I initially had buyer's remorse when I first booted up PE1, when I booted it up again a few months later and beat it, I absolutely loved it.

but I hated that one square RPG that followed the PE formula and took place in the Ivalice universe and was a dungeon crawler. e_e whatever it was called. Damned game needed some fucking voiceacting to work together with the cinematic in-game camera. The game looked better than MGS, and it felt like it was going to tell an epic story, but instead of voices, I was forced to read space-wasting word bubbles(!).

Augh!

But they were word bubbles filled with a fantastic story.

(calm down, calm down...)

I think you mixed your description with another great game, but I got what you trying to say and yeah I agree....SaGa Frontier 2 was horrible

seriously.

those word bubbles shit all over a buttload of the HD graphics of today
you can keep your word bubbles, I hated them.

I'll take subtitles any day, or even a text box with a face next to it.

That's a really silly reason to hate VS.

The game was amazing, although flawed in the way it educated players. It's more fun if you FAQ it.
