Geez you guys just dont understand humor, so tired of this PC police and outrage culture, its a shame this cant be like the good ol days, George Carlin is rolling on his grave because of your reaccions. Im gonna order some tickets to see Ted 2 and Amy Schummer just to spite y'all.

Trust me, 95% of the time on this forum and the internet in general I just roll my eyes when people get "offended" over stupid stuff. This kind of thing is crossing the line.

People actually jumped out of the plane. They literally pranked an entire plane to the point that people risked their lives jumping out of it.

That's a pretty elaborate prank. People screaming and jumping out with parachutes? Even if I did know it was a prank, I'd still be freaking out.

I think those people were in on the prank. At least, I hope so.

Everyone is in on this prank except for the celebrity they pick.

There is only one person that jumps off the plane and he is always wearing a parachute obviously in every episode as he is trained for this role.

They said it cost them about $300k to get Hilton to show up, which is the most they paid a celebrity in this TV prank show so far.

So she had prior knowledge that she was being filmed for a thing and was being paid to appear on TV?

Yeah, I don't feel as sorry as I did before. Granted, stalling a plane intentionally is the most fucked up prank I could think of.

All celebs they bring for this are being paid to show up of course. Whether they knew about the prank already or not, no idea. From the reaction of one celebrity though, I don't think they know. There was one that hit the actor a lot, spit in his face, and cussed at him after they landed.

I don't remember that they were actually turning off the engine. Just that the pilot would slow it down a lot and then make it dive over and over. Then, they pretend they have to land in the water.

I really don't stand the actor and how he purposely talk the way he does on the show, so I have only seen two episodes in total including the one with Paris Hilton, but my relatives kept bringing it up a lot.

Wow. Pull this prank on the wrong person, getting that kind of adrenaline and emotion going, and someone could get hurt. A heart attack, or them attacking the prankster. I'd sue, fuck it.

For all the serious responses in this thread, she seemed pretty giggly at the end of the vid.

The host seemed very manipulative at the end though by reiterating how much everyone loves her. If he didn't have the proper charisma after telling Paris it was a prank, she could have broke down.

Andy Kauffman would've found this hilarious. And if Andy Kauffman is wrong, then I never want to be right.
Andy would want no part of this. Andy Kaufman, like any other good comedian, no matter what the prank was would strive to make it funny and take the audience through an unpredictable journey to come to something they'd never seen before.

If not the majority that found it funny, to at least some who'd then book him for more things because of how memorable his acts were. Experimental alternative comedy that would go on to influence many things since then. Before the internet, this is how he made things go viral. Like Tony Clifton. Like reading The Great Gatsby in its entirety. Like breaking the 4th wall on Fridays when he couldn't play a stoned character so Michael Richards brought out the laughably large cue cards for him to stick to the script leading to a big fight. This Egyptian prank show with Ramez Galal never does anything on that level. There's no creativity or artistry here compared to anything Andy did. He pranked people thinking their TV was messed up for 10 seconds, no more. He wasn't into threatening his audience's lives.

Comparing this to Andy Kaufman is ignorant and insulting.

Bill: Hello, is this Mr. Chester Sherman?
Chester: Yes..
Bill: Sir your wife is dead!
Chester: Oh...god, no!
Bill: Thats right, she just walked through a plate glass window, there's blood everywhere!
Chester: But...but I just talked to her (starts crying)
Bill/Marty: (Laughs)

That's so awful. Why would seriously convincing a girl she is about to die in an accident be funny in their minds?

I really doubt that she wasnt in on that stunt before....at this point she would probably do much for publicity.

But if not...well it sucks.

I agree, it was funny.

That acting was too good from someone who isn't an actor (or rather known as one) so no I do not believe she was in on it.

I also don't believe she seemed all that comfortable after it was revealed to her, nonetheless social pressure would have dictated she laughed it off. Plus it being edited doesn't tell the whole story of course.

Whatever the case, that prank went too far and I legitimately felt sorry for her.

There's a whole series of these on Argentinian TV. I still wonder how nobody has had a heart attack yet, I sure would.

Aren't pranks supposed to be funny? This isn't a prank.

This was an intentional infliction of emotional distress. This is like a doctor telling someone that their child died after an operation then laughing and saying "fooled you!" because it's not true.

It's beyond outrageous and despicable. Anyone who laughs at this is sick.

I seriously loathe this show, I hate it with all my heart.

It's on Arab TV everyday but I can't handle the sight of it, seriously what the fuck are they thinking pulling malicious shit like that on people.

ROFL I'm sorry but Paris Hilton's reaction is fucking hilarious wahahaha thats so fucked up

Are we going to live or not? Why cant we laaannd?
