You can't believe ? I was waiting for my beta key from november 2011, got in in march and i can't believe people now will have this bad boy to play with.
GGG response to feedback from their users is just mindblowing. And what we have is mostly because of GGG being diablo2 players and modders (including MedianXL guy) creating their own game because D3 wasn't there and mixing their experience with people feedback.
Game every patch just get better. And most of those changes are meaningfull and super fast. Something not working? Exploit ? Expect path in hours. Because of their forum feedback response most of exploits will be taken care of in max day or two. They actively seeking from their beta members best feedback posters and include them in alpha testing.
No wonder PoE is awesome where so much feedback was taken into account.

The one week hardcore race was crazy. It got pretty tense towards the end, Kripparian put up a good fight but it was Dominion that took 1st place. Grats to all the winners and commiserations to anyone that died, especially the unlucky ones that fell at the final stages. Soldiers!

Hi, if you want to try the game with a controller, i recommend you the software pinnacle profile, something like this works pretty good:
Left stick for movement with the "map to mouse spring function" that moves the cursor in a circular area around your character and goes back to the center of the screen when let go.
Right stick direct mapped to mouse, for precision cursor interaction, like with the inventory/menus.
Face buttons, shoulder buttons and stick buttons for spells.
Dpad for potions.
Left trigger for stationary shoot.
It works pretty nice, obviously is a game designed for K+M, but you can play with a controller using a similar config like this... and it also depends a lot of the build/character.

Omg, I hope this doesn't sound mean... well I guess there's no way it won't but I'm gonna say it anyway. That guy Charan is unbearable to read on the forum. I've never seen someone brown-nose a company and defend their honor as much as this guy. He even got a moderatorship because of it. Any time someone would post a negative thread he'd be in there defending with huge, lengthy rebuttals, sometimes quite rudely. These "GGG can do no wrong" type of dudes really made me dislike the game's community, and there's a lot of them. I didn't even feel like playing. That was the first time a fanbase made me not want to play the game.

I haven't played the beta in a few months. Not that I've lost interest, but I decided to take a break and join back when my players actually stick and another act and more content is added. Are they adding more tiers of weapons upon the open beta release? Also, have people been enjoying PvP? Is it balanced at all? I think it would be really cool if you could bet orbs and possibly even get experience for dueling.
Every few months I return to this game, and by now, I would say it can stand up on its own legs beside Diablo III, proudly. The combat is nowhere near what I find there, but the item/skill system makes up for it.
Now, remove some horrible areas from Act1/Act2 (to make it less redundant), add Act3 and add some flavor to it (and no, bandits and shelled crabs wont be it), and then we have a Goty 2013-contender easily.

Does it still look like ass? I really disliked the style and was hoping they'd revise it somehow (hell, original Borderlands did it...so there is hope).

Game has so many great features but the controls are just bad. Really don't like how unresponsive and slow combat feels, and imo it pretty much ruins the game for me. I've got plenty of problems with Diablo 3 but it excels in tight controls. Same with TL2

Ya, but I couldn't get into TL2. I didn't like the skills or character building, and the lack of a respec hurt my interest pretty awfully.
Maybe loot games are just done for me. Nothing has been as compelling as grinding NM Meph to get ready for NM Baal to be able to handle Hell in D2.
I also think D2 had a better skill system than anything else out there, and only D3 has even come close, but it had so many other problems that it wasn't redeemable.
Nothing beats the playing of a WW barb or an Orb sorc or a strafe or multi-zon. I hate that I'm 'that guy' now, but I am!
You could always get into modding.
I find myself falling in and out, and back into genres quite a lot. So for a while, I'll be playing fps. Then I'll tire of it and play rpgs. Then an fps will come along and I'm back into that genre again.
It could be that you still like arpgs. You just haven't found the one to rekindle your love for them. Who knows, it could be Grim Dawn. Or maybe D3's expansion (whenever that happens - dont hold your breath) will click with you.

Does not compute. D3 is nowhere near D2 in any mechanic and certainly not skills.
As of "that" guy. It depend what you want from arpg. If you want Wub wub wub bash bash Diablo 3 is best game ever but that is not what creates arpg. You may like simply actions games not arpg games and this is nothing wrong to do.
D3 is good action game but terrible arpg.
Damn. I really want to try the game. 19 days is so long. I'd spend the $10 but I just spent a bundle on games with the holiday sales.
