Paul Ryan on Trump-Comey interactions

Why doesn't someone, anyone, from the media while interviewing him just say he shits and eats more bullshit then any other thing on the planet. Seriously, media, just rip him apart live.

House Speaker Paul Ryan says FBI director needs to be independent

Trump picks Christopher Wray to be F.B.I. Director

The most troubling issue that Wray may face is the fact that his law firm — King & Spalding — represents Rosneft and Gazprom, two of Russia’s largest state-controlled oil companies.

Rosneft was prominently mentioned in the now infamous 35-page dossier prepared by former British MI6 agent Christopher Steele. The dossier claims that the CEO of Rosneft, Igor Sechin, offered candidate Donald Trump, through TrumpÂ’s campaign manager Carter Page, a 19% stake in the company in exchange for lifting U.S. sanctions on Russia.

Rosneft is also the company that had a $500 billion oil drilling joint-venture with Exxon in 2012, when Secretary of State Rex Tillerson was ExxonÂ’s CEO. However, the deal was nixed by President Obama in 2014, when he imposed the sanctions that crippled RussiaÂ’s ability to do business with U.S. companies. The lifting of sanctions by the Trump administration would enable Exxon to renew its joint venture agreement with Rosneft, and the law firm of King & Spalding could end up in the middle of the contract negotiations between those two companies.

The law firm’s representation of Gazprom raises even more serious conflict issues for Wray. Gazprom was a partner in RosUkrEnergo AG (“RUE”), which is controlled by Ukrainian oligarch Dmitry Firtash. He is under federal indictment in Chicago for racketeering charges, has had numerous financial dealings with former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort, and is generally considered to be a member of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s inner circle.

If he didn't know it wasn't allowed he should be let off because he has an R next to his name, and Russia starts with R so it has to be good.

Let me get this straight. Firing the Director of the FBI to end an investigation into my campaign and ex National Security Advisor breaks protocol? So many confusing rules.

That's not a valid excuse and also shows why someone with zero political experience shouldn't be President

I don't agree with this but I see where you are coming from.

Trump is just incompetent period. Political experience will always help in an election unless the people are tired of career politicians not helping them. Which is one of the reasons Trump won.

And yet at the same time, his ignorance of political protocol wasn't so ignorant that he wanted to discuss these things openly with other cabinet members in the room, and asked them all to leave, refusing to open up on the topic until he and Comey were isolated.

So even if he genuinely didn't know it broke the law, it was still something he didn't want other people to be witness to, so even if he was not consciously aware of the problem, he instinctively knew this was not something you wanted credible witnesses for.

Sorry officer I didn't realize I couldn't drive drunk on the sidewalk, I'm new to this.

New to this?

Funny, I thought Trump was pretty well versed in being an failing, babbling, corrupted idiot with too much power and ego. It's been that way for years.

Look, Trump didn't know about mutually assured destruction when he made the call to nuke North Korea! He's not a politician and he was never fully briefed on the consequences of such an action when he chose not to have intelligence briefings on it!

Tell you what, I'll buy that as long as you remove Trump for "inability to perform the duties fo the position". I believe that is one of the official reasons a president can be impeached.

Deal?

"He's well versed at being dodge and crooked and dodging scrutiny for the past three decades ... but since this is his first dozen times doing it as an elected official, he's new to this"

Either Paul Ryan is talking listening to his legal counsel and not saying anything particular about it or it means "we're going to let this slide until the next election cycle"

These powerful Americans with bigly Russian sympathy is getting fucking ridiculous. Guess they want their country to eventually crumble like the USSR.

Was it ever in doubt that they want to emulate the crony, corrupt, oligarch-controlled state of Russia? They couldn't give a damn about America or her people. It's purely about power and control and, of course, the money.

Just remember, during the transition to the White House, they repeatedly waved off briefings, along with a lot of the help offered by the outgoing White House team to fill them in, instead relying on people like Bannon to fill those roles.

They set themselves up for ignorance, and they can't use that as an excuse.

YOU MORONS RAKED OBAMA OVER THE COALS FOR 8 GODDAMN YEARS FOR THE MOST TRIVIAL SHIT BECAUSE HE WAS "TOO INEXPERIENCED".

The best part of al of this is that it probably kills Ryan inside to have stake his political career on defending Donald Fucking Trump, a guy he likely has zero respect for. He knows this excuse is bullshit, but what other choice does he have? He and his colleagues have tied themselves to Trump and have to go down with the ship.

He's right though, Trump is incredibly new to ethics and protocol.

It's not easy to go from "do this for me or you're fired" to having to follow long traditions that require actual work on your own part.

He's just learning to be human like the rest of us.

Try telling that to a cop trying to give you a ticket for something like doing a 3 point turn in a business district.
