Game on PC runs and looks awful on the newer released DLC maps. The engine blows dick.

It's a shitty fps, from a shitty dev, that will likely have shitty support and run like shit.
It's really, really hard to spin this.

Well the good news is you wont have to worry about updates and DLC for the console version. I don't think it's received any sort of update to keep it inline with the PC version at all since it was dumped out. I can't imagine the Switch version will be any better.

People, PAYDAY 2 support will end this year and by the time the Switch version is out there most likely is nothing anymore to update.
The only worry is that the port sucks but please stop shitposting without having any actual information about the state of the game currently.

The game is popular but as someone who has played quite a bit of PD2 on PC, I'd still advise folks to not send money the way of this company.
It's at the end of a 10 day free week that also included a bunch of free updates so the numbers are a little more boosted than normal but it is still a pretty big game. I guess they're hoping to get Nintendo fans who have not heard about how the other console versions were just dumped out and forgotten.
Don't know why you think it makes a difference. The previous console versions were months behind immediately and only got worse over time due to neglect. This will be the fourth time they're going to release a console version, it's fair to look at the previous three times to judge how it will be treated.

Coming from a PC background, it was very much a surprise to see this in the Direct (in a good way). But I return to GAF and see a lot of negativity. It's an old game, but still a very popular one so that doesn't really matter. I guess the console versions aren't so good huh? I honestly had no idea.

No one is out of touch. I've played hundreds of hours of payday 2. Overkills console support is plain bad. Every game they've released on consoles has been riddled with bugs, poor performance and has been poorly supported. That's just a fact.

I'm listening. People have said that the console versions got left to die without updates, but sanstesy literally just said the final updates are about to hit the PC version so that's hardly going to reflect poorly on the Switch port.
I haven't played the game nor do I know much about it, I'll get it if reviews are good. I'm not defending the game by any means, just trying to listen to reason from both sides.
The game is incredibly popular but every console port of the game has been incredibly poor in terms of the quality of the port and developer support.
The company only cares about the PC version and basically releases console versions as a quick cash grab and nothing else. Just go read some comments on the Ps3/Ps4/360/X1 version of the game.

I've read those comments and understand the concern but that doesn't mean anything for the Switch version, especially if updates are ending soon.

Will no doubt run like ass and receive no post launch support or content without paying ludicrous amounts. Got it on PS+ for PS3 and it was miserable, then picked it up on PS4 when it was cheap and got burnt with the similarly shitty performance, unbelievably bad controls and nonexistent patch support.

Sure, but that's the PC version. The console version...Isn't too hot. And the devs have made their stance on consoles already.
I'll assume the Switch version won't be treated like the PC version.
While it's good that the Switch is getting more support. I'd HIGHLY advise everyone to just wait until the game is actually out before deciding to buy it or not.

I don't care if they release "old" games (come on, is 3 years really that old??) As long as they're proven fun games. Specially if they're trying genres that are almost completely unexplored in the platform. People complaining about this are really boring.
