Yeah, I got all the consoles even though PC is my main. Bringing over digital libraries plus playing BC games was the main goal.

For next gen, I won't be buying an Xbox, and probably will wait a couple of years for PS since there are only a few exclusives I will really want.

Switch 2 is likely to be Day 1 or as Day 1 as scalpers allow especially if they improve performance of current Switch games.

PS5, but it's collecting dust tbh.

Also isn't this the same thread as this one:

Yes but im just replaying stuff on it(tlou, got, uncharted) else it would just gather dust. I am looking forward to getting Stellar Blade and whatever they announce at the SoP.

I had several over the years but I can't honestly said I've ever considered any of them anything more than a "side dish" to my main focus to PC gaming.
Anyway, my most recent one WAS a PS4 Pro that died in a thunderstorm few months ago. I'm currently left only with older ones that aren't even kept "ready for use" (read "They are stored in some box somewhere").

EDIT - Basically, since the poll conflates different things in its options, my pick on it should be both "Yes, I own consoles" and the last one "I have no interest in other consoles".

PC
PS5
Xbox Series X
Nintendo Switch
PSVR 2
Quest

I have other (older) consoles as well, but I don't really use them anymore, aside from the PS4 that I use to play Bloodborne every once and awhile (hopefully that changes after today or at some point in the near future).

  • PC w/ Ryzen 7 7700x/RTX 4090/64GB RAM
  • Xbox Series S
  • Nintendo Switch

PC for me, Series S for the wife and kid, Switch for my kid and so I can dump my purchased games to my PC.

I am in all four ecosystems. But I think this is the last console generation for me since everything is moving to PC anyway. I don't mind waiting a year or two for PlayStation titles to move to PC, and Xbox titles are already on PC day one. The only thing I would be missing out on are Nintendo titles, and I don't play Nintendo games enough anymore to really care about a new Nintendo Switch.

If I do get a Nintendo Switch 2, it would only be to mod it so I can dump purchased games to PC. So I wouldn't be owning the console to use it as intended.

I consider myself to be a PC gamer and an Xbox gamers in equal portions. I just see my Xbox as extension of all things related to my window user account.

I have a switch for the exclusives, and I have an Xbox for the backwards compatible titles. Everything else I play on PC. Every time, I wonder if I will continue playing on Xbox, something exclusive to consoles comes out; titles like MLB the show, NCAA football 25, and the new GTA VI when it comes out.

No i never have owned a console, but i'm from the older generation of PC gamers, where PC gaming was completely separate in the 90's, a lot of younger PC gamers will have come from the Xbox and Playstation eco system as kids in the noughties onwards, there is no PC specific genre at the top anymore, exclusives are rare now.

I have a Switch Lite, which I use in bed and on the go to play mostly exclusives. Otherwise, I'm completely uninterested in any other console at this point. Not worth the investment seeing how little exclusive content they get nowadays. The upfront cost for a PC might be a bit higher, but you save money in the long run.

Yeah, my usage of consoles has gone hand and hand with PC.

The only time I really didn't own a console was during the ps2 generation. After PS1 I bought a packard bell pc and a voodoo3 card, upgraded it as far as it would go but that Cyrix m2 chip was horrible for 3d games as the math co-proccessor was shit. Built my first rig by parts and it was the same time as amazing pc exclusives were coming out. Baldur's gate 1/2, Icewind dale, torment, Rune, Quake 2/3, unreal torn, undying, black and white, max payne, half-life, farcry, doom3, hl2, cod2, vampire bloodlines 2, morrowind, oblivion, etc... I seen no need for a console that stretch.

It wasn't until getting back into handhelds (first sicne the og gameboy) and getting a psp that I realized I was missing my good friends jrpgs and action games. So I got back into both.

I know no one cares about my gaming history, but I do so I am going to list it anyway :messenger_grinning_smiling::messenger_beaming:

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Own the following consoles (had many more in the past):
PS5
XBX
Switch
Genesis Mini (hacked with sega cd/32x/genesis/tg16/sms/arcade games)
SNES mini (hacked with NES/SNES/GBA Games
TG16 mini (not hacked because no one released a hack to the public)
PS1 Classic mini (hacked with ps1 and psp games)
PSVita
PSP
3DS
Wii/GC
So yeah, you could say I own consoles too.
Console history: Atari 2600/intellivision gen. Owned Intellivision - > NES - > Gameboy -> TG16 - > Genesis -> ps1 -> PSP -> Ps3 - > NDS -> Ps2 - VIta -> 3dsXl -> PS4 -> Switch -> PS5 -> XBX -> mini consoles

Computers - > Apple iic (1985) - > IBM clone 8088 8mhz CGA 256k ram -> 80386sx 16mhz w/cd rom sbpro, svga -> M2 Cyrix packard bell 266mhz voodoo3 - > pentium 3 650mhz voodoo5/Geforce3 -> Athlon2 2.1ghz geforce 5700 -> Athlon64 3ghz, Geforce 6800 -> Core2duo geforce 8800gts -> i3 ati 7870 -> second hand i3 -1060/1650super gtx - > Ryzen 5 3600, 16gb ddr4, 1tb ssd, 4tbhdd, nvidia 2060rtx to 3060ti rtx.

Was considering getting a PS5 in 2020, but the ugliness of the thing and the lack of interesting exclusives made me reconsider. I'm glad I did, games have mostly moved away from the platform tied, generational model now, and PC the versions offer a better experience overall.

I got a PS5 (gathering dust), Xbox One X (BC machine) hooked up to the same TV as the PC, and a Switch Lite (only really use for reviews these days) as the portable.

Not usually one to sell old systems either so I've still got all my Sega consoles boxed up, as well as plenty of others like WiiU/Wii, PS2 etc., and some other handhelds like Vita & 3DS. Probably have enough systems and games to last a lifetime.

I own all 3. But i havent turned my PS5 on in like 4 months due to lack of games coming out, I do plan on playing Stellar Blade though. Wife plays the Switch, and I play my Xbox occasionally. I enjoy playing on consoles for the most part. If the PC port of a game is awful then i'll play it on consoles.

I have a Switch and PS5 too.

On the PS5 though:
GT7 - I'm waiting for the PC version to be announced and then will get this on PC
FF16 - I'm waiting on the PC version to be released and then will get this on PC
Star Ocean 5 - would be nice if they released this on PC like the other SO games, then I would buy it there
Vanillaware titles - these are what cause me to keep my PS5 since they don't do PC ports

PC
Steam Deck
Switch (stored)
Wii
N64
N2DS
PS4 (stored)
PS2
PS Vita

I don't see the value on getting a modern console when you already have a PC.
Currently looking at getting a Sega Saturn, since I still have room for those and some games, like Grandia, have their best version being the Saturn one, plus I want to check out Panzer Dragoon Saga.

I used to have a PS3 way back when I was a kid, because I didn't have the means to get a PC.
Starting with a weak laptop thinking it could handle anything, not knowing about pc specs and different hardware, I learned quickly PC gaming is something you'd have to commit a bit towards to some extent.
Once I finally got my own PC strong enough to play somewhat everything, I forgot any other platform exists.
PC gaming all day now and never regretting it :)

This current gen is the first time I have skipped on owning a console. No PS5, no Series, no Switch.
PC and Steam Deck is all I have that's current (I do own most major consoles from previous gens).

Though, this will likely change next year, I plan on getting a Switch 2. Nintendo + PC is gonna be my combo.

This has been one of my most anticipated games since it was announced. Can't wait!

The origins missions they just released were really cool:
