PC Drivers for Xbox One controller are out.

So...what's better, xbone or 360 controller? Also, no wireless for the xbone controller as of yet, right?

Xbone controller felt odd and I didn't like it at first but it grows on you. 360 pad feels cheap when I go back to play on the 360 or PC.

Only potential problem is the bumpers, I have no problems with it but I know some people that dislike them. Everything else is great.

Excuse my ignorance but are Xbox One controllers bluetooth? ie: no dongle needed ala 360?

Should work via micro usb

Finally :) have been beta testing these, had to bite my tongue at all the people saying "lol never coming out". Nice playing arkham origins on my pc with the controller :)

wait, to use it we need a micro usb cable or it can be used via wifi/bluetooth? someone can try it for us that still don't own a xbox one?

wifi direct i think, meaning it'll require a separate dongle if they make one

gonna stick with the ds4/360 combo for my MP stuff, dislike the bumpers and the handles on the xbone controller.

This is maybe good news for e3 though?

How much better is the dpad? That would be my only reason to dump my 360 pad. That useless thing wasnt even good enough for changing weapons in dark souls. It would be nice not to have to dig out and configure my saturn pad for 2D games.

Great news, thank you for posting fellow GAFfer.

I would love to get a Xbox one controller for my PC but my current 360 Wireless is not even two years old and I can't shake that sentence "don't fix what isn't broken" due to my limited budget.

Breaking the 360 controller on purpose does not count.

Fantastic new, hopefully a wireless solution is coming down the pipe as well.

*I wonder how he installed Halo 2 on that surface tablet? Game never had a digital release did it?

Sweet :D

Was sick of messing around with the unofficial DS4 drivers. Not a huge fan of the bumpers but I'll take the (hopeful!) stability instead.

Great! My 360 controller sticks were starting to get a bit too loose for my liking. Now they need to find a way to implement the impulse trigger in every game.

Great! My 360 controller is worn out and I didn't want to have to buy a new controller. Downloading the drivers when I get home.

YES! no way this will work with the wireless adapter for my 360 pad right? USB is fine for me, but it would be nice.

Didn't hear good things about the bumpers, still curious though. Might buy one when my current 360 controller fails me.
They take some getting used to compared to the 360 bumpers. You have to press them on the edge of the button, unlike the 360 ones that you could press anywhere. It makes it harder if you use your index fingers for the bumpers and your middle fingers for the triggers, but if you use your index finger for both then it works fine.

Just tried the drivers they indeed do work and I love how the controller rumbles to let you know its powered on and good to go! Now they just need to release a wireless dongle for it and im set!

Today is a great day! :D

This is great news. I cant stand the 360 controller after using the XB1 controller. Cant wait to try out an XB1 controller with some of my PC games.

It sucks that it can be used only in wired mode, I think that I'll continue to use my ds4 and wait for a wireless adapter

Haha yeah - that just happened to me the second I read your post. It's a nice little thing.

I just ordered a dedicated Xbox One controller + play and charge kit for my PC. Hopefully it works with potential wireless dongle, but if not, I need a new Xbox One controller anyway for my XB1 - the one I'm using is falling apart.

Is the port at the end of the Xbone controller Micro USB or is something proprietary?

Micro USB on top of the controller, a proprietary one at the bottom. The Micro USB port is the only one you need for PC use though.

Good to hear. I may have to get one of those things.
