PC gamers: What is the most comfortable desk chair ever?

This. I have exclusively used these chairs (home and work) for over 10 years. Sitting in anything else feels wrong. B size is perfect for the average human being.

I bought one couple of months ago, not sure if it's the best chair ever but I find it very confortable, more so than my chair at work.I just bought an Ikea Markus and I love it. The high back is great and I can rest my head on it nicely.

I got one of those (different model though) and it is pretty awesome. Build quality of the lower part should be a lot better than it is for the price though. And also, they are insanely expensive in the states compared to here.

I am with you OP, it is really tough to find a chair that doesn't cause pressure points on my butt. I been eyeing both the Steelcase Leap and Gesture (almost 1k sheesh), but haven't pulled the trigger yet...

This is my exact chair. I've had it since 2006. Some of the material has ripped but its still in perfect working order and I use it every day.
I've sat in both the HE Embody and Sayl.
The Embody is sublime. The Sayl is more affordable and still very comfortable. The only reason I'm had a hard time buying one is that after doing some research there is known defect in their manufacturing process that has to be manually fixed and that really put me off.
I would strongly recommend the Sayl if you don't mind fixing the defect yourself that causes squeaks within the year. It is the best bang for buck IMO.
Now this is the chair I'm going to pull the trigger on when I'm ready.
Knoll's Regeneration Chair
It's in between the Sayl and Embody in terms of price with some nice practical features over the Sayl.
Other than that I recommend reading wirecutter's reviews on chairs. It is pretty damn good.

That's more complex than a car seat...and car seats are intended to save LIVES.
I've always wanted a Herman. I sat in an Aero once and it was quite exquisite.

So, where is it aggressively priced in your experience?
I can also verify the leap is legit. I got one refurbed for about £250 and had it for 2 years so far. It's awfully nice to sit on and there is 8000 ways you can adjust it for your posture to make it even better.
More importantly it doesn't kill my arse after sitting on it for 8 hours.

Open box and lightly used ones can go for half or less of the MSRP, especially if you go on Craigslist and find some place that's selling off a large number of them.

This is my office chair at work. It's really nice, but if I were to use this to play games on at home, I'd like a higher back for it (with headrest).

I just bought an Ikea Markus and I love it. The high back is great and I can rest my head on it nicely.
I have this and it is not my favorite. I bought it to replace an older model Ikea tall back office chair which I really liked.
The three problems I have are:
the armrests are very tall and have no adjustment. I ended up taking them off.
The padding in the seat breaks down. Mine is about a year old and is mostly flattened out.
I prefer a seat that slopes up a little bit in the front when you recline the back. The back is completely separate from the seat, so when I recline I feel like I am sliding forward.
The good thing about is that I like how tall the back is, and I like the back support. And it is very cheap compared to the $1000 alternatives...

How heavy are you? The Aeron comes in three sizes for various heights. I'll tell you, I'm about 180 lbs and sit in the B size chair and it's been fine for me. The aftermarket headrest I bought from Engineered Now (formerly VendorGear) has been tremendous. If you do any control pad gaming, I would suggest considering getting a chair with a headrest. (I wonder why Humanscale has only ever made one task chair with a headrest...)
I love my Aeron but I bought it 13 years ago -- and this is a chair with a 12 year warranty. Honestly, I should at least replace the seat but that seems like it'd be a bunch of work.
But that said, OP, If your back really isn't a problem and it's just your butt, why not start by getting a gel or memory foam cushion and see if that's enough?

I was just in Staples and tried it out. It seemed great but you need to be kind of small. The headrest, despite adjusting, is too low for me at 5'10 and the seat is rather small.
I got one of the tempurpedic chairs from staples last year for $199 since they were all $100 off. Great chair with lots of support, the seat is extremely comfortable and it has some decent features like adjustable armrests. The back mesh isn't quite as stiff as it could be, but overall its a great chair for the price.
Leap or Aeron are both very good choices.
Aeron has better lower back support, assuming you get one of the lumbar addons. It also has better tilt controls, including a very nice forward tilt you don't usually get on office chairs.
Leap has more adjustable arms. It also does not have mesh fabric, so it gets warmer than the Aeron. It's comfortable and a fine choice.
I'd recommend finding an office chair supplier and sitting in both chairs before making your decision.

They have a 12 year warranty. Crap office chairs feel terrible AND they fall apart in a few years. Even crummy Aeron copycat type chairs cost $400 and they're never as good.
I've been purchasing desk chairs for almost 15 years. The one thing I've learned in that time is not to be cheap about a chair you sit in 8+ hours a day. A bad chair will leave you feeling like crap at the end of the day. A good chair will last years and years and years.
The cost is worth it.

I have a leather chair with a high back. Nothing too fancy, but I like it a lot better then my cheapo short back that I used to have.

Bought a cheap chair from Staples and I reupholstered it with high quality foam and replaced the fake leather with mesh material for breathability.

. Worst part of pc gaming for me, I don't want to quit like this after two decades. More stuff like this guys please, big, fat seat is all I need.
Herman Miller is out of my budget, so I'm looking for something cheaper, but with seat so big and fat, that I just melt in it

ha, I actually read this last night. Holy cow, it is thorough. It's actually what put the Leap at the top of my list.
Unfortunately there are no refurbs or anything in my area so I'm looking at a $919 price tag on Amazon. And that is not even the fully adjustable model.

You should look at their reviews for umbrellas. Made me feel embarrassed since I thought I knew what a quality umbrella was beforehand.

The images don't really do it justice as it looks much better in person. It's incredibly nice and very comfortable. The cushion is memory foam.

+1 for the Herman Miller Embody. It's expensive as hell, but i've had one for a year now and can't imagine ever going back.

The Herman Millers are completely overrated to me. I sit on one at work every day and it is too small and provides minimal back support. If you are anywhere near 6' (I'm 6'3") you're better off getting something with a high back that can support your head. Plus, they are outrageously priced.

Same. Which is why I went low. Low table, Japanese style floor chair or bean bag when using gamepad.
Could never go back to normal desk and chair.
Can you post pictures of this setup? Just curious, may even try if it looks comfortable.

How does the Gesture compare to the Leap?
All I can really find is that it's newer and allows more seating positions. One comment said it's a little less comfy than the Leap.
