PC Is On The Way

So funny enough, as an adolescent, I was gaming on pc. I played Toontown, Wizard101, neopets, nicktoons basketball and more, ironically I hadn’t viewed it has me being a pc gamer but technically I been one. I always had a console alongside it, but forward to 2023 and I then had the series s, x, ps5, switch, and a gaming PC. After owning and playing as much as I could I found myself not being satisfied with gaming and I have been contemplating just giving it up completely.

Video games are just not hitting the same anymore. I beat 8 games this year so far and 5 of them been ps2 games that either been remade or remastered for consoles. I thought it’ll make sense to play those same games in 4K 60fps + on PC and just connect it to my tv and use my favorite controller and buy the games physically off eBay (I already bought marvel ultimate alliance and x-men legends). Xbox games launch day one on PC and Sony games aren’t even coming off fast enough for me to care to hold onto this PS5. It is what it is.

Now my next part is the decision. I have AMD Ryzen 5 5600x 6-core with a prime b550-plus motherboard in my cart with 16gb drr4 ram. Any pc tech nerds think this is a good start? Also what’s the best option for GPU that won’t break the bank?

great.....all you need is gpu. Get 4060ti for 1440p all because of DLSS antialiasing otherwise, I would say 6700XT and set tv to ultrawide 1440p. You are good to go.
Unless your thread is about selling it. Explore the option of getting used 2080ti, 3070, 3080 or 3090

That 8gb of vram is a problem but dlss is great, but looking at comparisons that 6700xt is cheaper and performs better. The 6700xt the best option here; thanks.

Considering this is your first entry on PC gaming, dont buy the most expensive hardware on your first build. The post above nails it with the 4060ti or 6700 XT video card options.

This is my 3rd entry but yeah I’m going with the 6700xt. Is the upgrade path better for AMD this time around? I haven’t been into pc gaming since 2020.

  1. Yes.
  2. For 1080p: RX 6600, for 1440p: RX 6700 XT / RTX 3060 (Ti), for 4K: RTX 4090
