Also, there's an artistry independent of the visual side of things; there's an art to comedy. Not a lot of laughs in the Mona Lisa. But it's a very pretty painting.
FF14 is a fine art masterpiece presenting itself as the same commercial prospect as The Simpsons.

I think the point was that you can't waive away its issues if they haven't made you cry yet. Meaning that if the game is problematic in areas that don't concern you, that doesn't mean that said problems should be ignored just because you're happy.Londa said:

In all fairness, if I remember the last thread properly, her entire stance on WoW's diversity and overall game design was founded on watching a few YouTube videos, so playing a character almost out of the newbie ranks is basically like a PhD in FFXIVology in comparison.

Londa, if you want to look like informed about something when others have different opinion AND more numbers behind them (therefore more TIME put into the game), you just cant win by saying you have a life.

Because you haven't been reading my post. I haven't said the game is untouchable. I said that comparing WoW graphics to FFXIV proves that the interviewer doesn't know anything. He also saids basically, why can't this be WoW if you paraphrase his question. They admit to their being faults, but copy and paste terrain was needed or the size of the game would be bigger than it is.

People who go out of there way to level up quickly and find out for the rest of us what lies ahead helps out the whole community a fuck-ton
If the game is broken early on, and some still struggle through it, hoping that the second half of the game is where it's at, and they report back it is, people will go through the struggle to get to the point, but if the game from start to end is a complete mess, and people have data, images, FACTS and not Londa made up assumptions, you have to admit your now just trolling to piss others off

I think it's safe to say most of us have lives here. I'm married, have a house, family obligations, have a side business, etc, etc yet I still have time to play games. I sure as hell have enough time to put more than 10 hours into a game that's been out since September... Especially when I like said game so much I choose to defend it day after day online.

You can not compare someone elses life to yours. Good on your that you have all those things and can still play. I'm not going to throw my life out there to be examined by gaf. So I wont be doing the same.

They should make 11 F2P finally. I have the base + first expansion discs right here that I haven't used since I bought them for $20 at Gamestop 5+ years ago, waiting for free servers. :|
It doesn't surprise me that they copy and paste so much in FFXIV. They did the same thing with terrain in FFXI, just disguised it as console limitations :lol.
IMO the only reason they rushed it is due to cataclysm, it isn't as if SE is running out of cash, they were just trying to get it released at the lull before the xpac, and just like warhammer before it, they failed.
I was hoping for FFXI-2 with better graphics and it was unrealistic to expect that but what we got was worse.
