PDO AM HERE: Spring Xbox 360 BC Update

I am aware it wasn't, but I thought all BC games both now had 480P and widescreen as a part of the emulation. At least that's how it started.

That's it. That's seriously almost every game I've wanted to play in a single list. As a matter of fact, before the 360 was even out, the top games I wanted to play are all on this very release. It took a while, but a wait is better than nothing!

Thanks for being patient with our bitching, Arne.

JSRF isn't working on the pack-in combo disc. >:(

Orta works/looks great though. :D

My guilty pleasure, Silent Scope Complete, still doesn't work.

So, then... people on a message board should actually read messages, instead of thread titles? Or people could have just asked for a title change for the other thread instead?

I just see it like this: this is important news. BC beg threads appear here all the time. There are plenty of people on this board who have a 360 and newly-BC'd games, and they deserve to know about it.

If it's a problem that I created a new thread for some big news, the mods are free to delete this, merge the posts in with the other, and do a title change. Until then, I'm not really sure what the big deal is.

Framerate was horrible when I tried it. Not that it was great to begin with.

so was it actually worse? i didn't notice a big problem with it, but didn't get too far into it yet.

Well, community outcry seems to get games working on X360.

Back in early January I made a bunch of posts on a few boards asking people to send in emails to backcomp@microsoft.com to ask for Street Fighter Anniversary Collection. Phantom Dust fans did the same thing. The previous update added Psychonauts after that game's community had an email/letter campaign.

This is a great update but we're missing a bunch of niche titles that I'm sure a lot of us are fans of.

So let's do ourselves a favor and send an email to backcomp@microsoft.com requesting these games!

I think the next important game to get added is Marvel vs Capcom 2.

Why?

It's awesome, and because of licensing issues, extremely unlikely to ever be released again, even as an XBLA or PSN download. Something like seven publishers hold various rights to Marvel characters now, which means the pie from an XBLA download just wouldn't be big enough to get them interested.

So send emails to backcomp@microsoft.com and ask for Marvel vs Capcom 2!!

Panzer Dragoon Orta, SFAC, JSRF (sadly, I own the combo disc)?

SFAC?

SFAC???

**** YEAH!

One of the games that I wanted so badly on BC, although I never complained about BC in the first place - thank you arne! No OutRun's yet, but hell, I'm more than satisfied right now - the community should grow even more thanks to BC!

You guys should really, REALLY thank the BC team, because you know these were the most requested right there... thanks again arne!

BC List

So, just wondering, ANYONE TRIED MECHASSAULT?!?!?! lolorz

MechAssault 1 does not work. I've read at other forums that MechAssault 2 is working, but I don't own that one.

The big deal is that the attitude towards new threads on GAF is just utterly non-sensical. We want a bunch of threads, we don't want a bunch of threads. I also think it makes far more sense to have "official" threads on topics, so that you know exactly where to go to find out about something, instead of having to hunt all around for which thread it is that has the info that you're looking for.

For example, we now have two completely different threads talking about this exact topic, with conversation and questions broken up between the two. Do I post in one, and have my post be ignored because the person with the answer is posting in the other? Or do I repeat the exact same post in both?

Doesn't work. At least not on the combo disk. Maybe the original works, but I suspect very few people in the world have it.

Luckily I've always been a Japanese Xbox guy, and we only ever got the standalone release AFAIK. Only having an import Xbox got me into lots of trouble over the years, but today, I am VINDICATED!

Guilty Gear Isuka came out on Xbox? I've never seen a copy. I thought only XX# Reload did.

Is 2 actually better than the first one? I might get that if it is.

Somehow, I missed that Crimson Skies was compatible before. I'll be getting my hands on that one, too.

That about covers all of the important ones for me. Besides Shenmue, but I'm not sure whether or not it was in an earlier update.

Yea Shemue 2 was added same time as Psychonauts.

NFL Fever 2004 - what a tease. :lol I'm gonna go buy it for like $5 anyway.

And JSRF as well. And Phantom Dust, since I keep hearing about it. Bargain bin, here I come.

Oh man - KOF 2002 & 2003 and Unreal Championship 2 as well? I need to find KOF 2003 PAL (never saw it show up here actually), and I saw UC2 for €5 the other day - didn't like it way back then, but hey, it's 5 euros...

Loving this update - but I hope the automatic XBL update happens soon - I don't feel like burning a CD/DVD even though it's not that much trouble... heh.

I agree totally. But. If, like me, you've gotten your hopes up every ****ing time someone bumps a BC thread, only to be brought crashing down when you realize that it's just someone else going "So, it's April. When's the next update coming out?", you start to become jaded, and might not click on the threads anymore. I figured I wasn't alone, so that's why I made the thread.

And, friends, lest we forget, now is a time for rejoicing, not the bitter exchange of diatribes. For tonight, WE DINE IN JET SET RADIO FUTURE!!!!!!!!

I thought that all you had to do to get bc updates is put in the game and try and play it, whats this about burning it to a cd?
The update is not yet out on Xbox Live, it's only available via Xbox.com. Looks like it's been put there a bit too early.

****, I just realized I sold Neowave with a pile of games I didn't think I'd ever play just TWO DAYS AGO! The only reason I got rid of it was because I didn't think it would ever be BC! Bah. Oh, well. Not like I'd touch it once I get my hands on an Xbox copy of SFAC.

Star Wars: Republic Commando
Street Fighter Anniversary Collection
Panzer Dragoon Orta
Mech Assault 2
Jet Set Radio Future

Sweeeet!!!

Does the online functionality of Phantom Dust work on the 360? If so it might finally push me over the edge to get a Live Gold membership.

I think all BC games have full online compatibility. It's all host-side with XBL, so it does them no harm to handle things that way.
