Cats often look a bit different when they are kittens.
Mine had a very short/small tail. I remember when the vet saw the tail of my cat and asked "what the hell is this". My cat is 1 year old now and its tail is big and beautiful. Like this one here:

And its head looks different now, just like the skin.

Tortoiseshells tend to look like crap when they are small, but amazing as adults. My oldest cat looked like Pree as a kitten, and now looks like a goddess. It'll grow into it's looks, literally.

And it's cute anyway. Because kittens!

It's a Somali breed. She's awesome. They have amazing tails too.

Looks like some sort of maine coon. Mine has huge paws as well. Mine isn't that gorgeous red/brown though.
