Is every 360 cover going to have the Xbox Live logo? Isn't that a bit redundant since every title has to be Live aware?

Nope, I haven't played it, but somebody mentioned today that it's really coming along, for what that's worth. I don't have any illusions that this is going to be a looker, but if it's fun, it's on my list. I keep forgetting it's a single player game too, because there's so much focus on MP stuff. I could really go for a nice, long, well put together shooter with a sci fi theme. Let's hope it's this one.

It looks that way. Every game is now "Live aware" which I guess is good enough for the logo. This of course completely ruins the point of having the logo.
 
Looks pretty good. Like the box art more than most recent big-name FPSs. The scene on the back looks pretty sweet.
 
Funny, everyone splooged over that cover image when they thought it was a screen back in the day. Now it's 'bad art'.

The cover looks good, and the back looks amazing. Hope that's realtime; at the very least the syle is great.

Looking back through your post history you really add nothing to these forums. Please ban yourself. You troll Xbox/360 threads.. then some OT crap.. then Nintendo crap.. seriously, banned 3 times in 230ish posts? Maybe you should take that as a huge hint.

Back on topic, I think the cover isn't spectacular but it isn't horrible if MS intent is to push the new Joanna look.. after all they have no real mascots so to speak outside of MC. The back is quite nice I think.

That's what I figured as soon as I saw it. So there you go JD haters, slip the sleeve on the other side and you get your precious better looking back cover.

Then again, I doubt most here are picking up the LE.. or even the game anyhow. :p
 
They are following the Halo 2 school of marketing (to the T) so dont expect to hear anything about Single player till October-ish
 
back cover is slick.

my anticipation for this title is less than simmering, but i still hope it turns out well. i did enjoy the first.

Does anyone really remember what happens in the first one? I mean I love my N64 and played the game a ton, but this is pretty much my thought process when it comes to remembering the single player:

"ooh the reflections on this floor are nice and shiny... hey if I shoot this guy on the roof he rolls off, awesome... what the fuck why does this floating laptop have a face... mr blonde... hey an alien named elvis USA-A-OK... I can shoot the president in slow motion, awesome... snow level... a speed bike or something... mr blonde killed some guy i think... why am i shooting a polygon implosion... oh those are aliens who roar like lions apparently... beat the game with a rocket launcher, i guess mr blonde is dead or was the boss i can't remember..."

So unless Mr Blonde, who i remember nothing about aside from his name (and I might have that wrong), elvis the alien, or facey laptop show up, I ain't exactly seeing the allure of a prequel here.
 
I agree mike. I loved the game (although it was inferior to Goldeneye IMO), but I couldn't tell you what the hell the plot was.

The best I can come up with, is that the company that developed Goldeneye, a fan favourite, also developed another FPS. They can't use Goldeneye, so they've used the other one. Thats about as strong as it gets IMO

PD was still fun, albeit not as fun as GE. How much fun it would be now? who knows, things have moved on (bit like most of the original development team)


I'll buy it if its fun, but it'll probably look shit. Plus I'm concerned about the LIVE factor. Will MS put so much emphasis on the MP that there is little/no single player (the bit that I'd actually play the most)
 
Given how horrible in game Joanna looks compared to front cover Joanna (or did last time we saw a new screen anyway), the fact that the back of the box has some nice art isn't convincing me.

God I hope they've sorted the art out. I don't know what the hell happened between the N64 version and this, maybe they lost the original lead artist, but the logo, wallguy, Jo herself, her suit, that horrendous second outfit....*cries*

Please Rare. Please please please.

There's no hope really, they sure as hell didn't spend the last 4 months sorting artwork when the graphics themselves got such a slating at E3.
 
Art on the back looks great. I do recall flying taxis from the first game for that Blade-Runner feel. That one multi-player level they've been showing looks more like a Prince of Persia setting than a future-techno city.

I'm still holding out hope for this one. The first one was great fun...played it on the hardest difficulty and took me months to get to the last level which I never did beat.

Wish we could get the original game with improved framerate on the Zero disc or as a pre-order giveaway.
