Perfect franchises for Switch

Any turn based JRPG

Its the perfect machine for it

You would think Nintendo would make their own

Ikaruga. Red Joycon shoots red bullets. Blue one shoots blue bullets.

Tbh, I hope it is perfect for Nintendo/Japanese games.

I think it mostly should be.

Concern areas:

2D Platformers- no d-pad on standard Joycon; strange deficit for a Nintendo console.

AAA Japanese games- specs might make these something of a problem. Fortunately, they don't exist outside of, say, FFXV.

Visual novels/adventure games- home console mode might pose problems without access to touch screen, used in DS/Vita/Phone versions.

Should be great for:

JRPG, SRPG, 3D Nintendo games, Nintendo party games.

Dungeon and Dragon, the pen and paper based one
For cry out loud, you can connect 8 tablets for local multiplayer here

Hell, do Monopoly, Risks, Game of Life

Hasbro™ Board Game Collection. With download play for certain titles? I'd gladly pay full price for it.

But I agree with D&D. Ever since Penny Arcade put the thought in my head with the Wii U tablet I so desperately want it to happen. Hell, even with Miiverse or some sort of digital online forum within the game, the potential to brainstorm ideas for quests, characters, locations, etc.

As for my own idea...Can we bring back Custom Robo, pls? Should be simple enough to cram a control scheme onto a single joy con for instant multiplayer.

I'd really love a Souls game on the go u_u also Final Fantasy XV and any RPG actually, I like farming and grinding, those things are th eperfect time killers while on the train...

I hope this is a system that sees a ton of thriving indie support. Really, any game that doesn't take a performance hit on the Switch is something I'd buy on the Switch. For graphically un-intensive indies like Stardew Valley, that I would expect run just as fine on Switch as they would on PC, I'd happily buy the Switch version for the added portability.

Dark Souls!!!!!!

Imagine being able to invade/coop with other people using local multi. And the series would just be amazing to have on the go.

Came to post this. A shame it took 4 pages to get here Gaf! Heck, a Souls game or collection on Switch would be a dream come true as those game tend to be very replayable and great to take with you on holiday (especially if you don't care that much about the online side).

Monster Hunter would make a lot of sense as well. Maybe Dragon's Dogma too.

Heck, imagine a system with Zelda, Dark Souls, Monster Hunter, Dragon's Dogma (and Skyrim) - that's what the Switch could be: a (dark) fantasy, action-adventure fan's dream come true.

Others I'd like to see are Mega Man and Castlevania reboots. Both as third person games, the former a light hearted action platformer, the latter a Souls-esque action RPG. Those being back on a Nintendo system along with their Nintendo first party brethren would be fantastic.

In general I want plenty of Japanese franchises to appear on Switch though, both big and small games, making it a haven for Japanese game design.

Edit: Phoenix Wright would be a nice addition too.

I just want a new Jet Set Radio and a proper Rayman 4.

The loss of Rayman 4 in favor of that Rabbids minigame nonsense still stings...over ten years later.

MH3U on the 3DS and Wii U had a great feature where you could transfer your save from one version to the other, it was basically what the Switch offers, but with an inconvenient save transfer process you had to do each time you wanted to switch.

The Switch eliminates the need for that.

Katamari Damacy.

Multiplayer on the fly would be cool. Would also be really easy to play using the gyro sensors in the joy-cons.
Oh man, yeah. I so wanted a Wii version where wiimote & nunchuk tilt took the place of the two analog sticks. 2017 joycons would be even better.

Rocket League, Overcooked, Rhythm Heaven, Phoenix Wright, Monster Hunter, Pokemon,FIFA on pair with Xb1/Ps4, plus every RPG like Mass Effect, the Witcher or Final Fantasy, being able to play those long games wherever/whenever you want is a big plus

I know this is kind of a cop-out, but pretty much every game is a perfect fit.

It's an all in one system. Traditional, motion, and touch controls. On tv, off tv. Single player, multiplayer. Everything works. The only games that wouldn't be good on it are the traditional AAA western games that would run poorly because of the less powerful hardware. Everything else is perfect.

AAA Japanese games- specs might make these something of a problem. Fortunately, they don't exist outside of, say, FFXV.

You know, I think getting AAA japanese games might not be a huge problem. Especially because Switch IS supporting UE4 and Unity. And it´s pretty funny how now many Japanese developers are now kinda using UE4.

- new SMT game
- kh 0.2 and 3
- FFVII:R
- this neptune spin-off
- tekken 7
- shenmue
- streetfitgher

I think even seeing a new tales of in UE4 won´t be unrealistic. Of course games won´t look as ps4/xb1 but 720p + lower details are probably a possibility. Not to forget that Nintendo kinda new this and did this. I thought UE4 will be only used by western devs and japanese devs using this kinda shocked me tbh.

Still, FFXV will never come to switch. Not because of hardware possbilities, but because I don´t think they want to go through development hell again.

Rocket League
Animal Crossing
Diablo
NBA Jam
NFL Blitz
Tetris
Peggle
The Witness
Stardew Valley
Minecraft
Shovel Knight
Enter the Gungeon
Shantae
Mega Man
Street Fighter
Skull Girls
Burnout
Gauntlet
Kingdom Hearts

Basically any indie, sports, or 2D/2.5D, puzzle, platformer, and fighting game is perfect for the switch. also split/shared screen co-op games.
