Perhaps the sickest video game rap EVER.

I like Buck Bumble a lot ... but not sure if it deserves to be played 100% =x

Haha, didn't even catch that nod for some reason. I loved that game as a kid. I remember I kept renting it from Blockbuster.

But nah, I'm talking about TWEWY. :P

He even named the video The Greatest Video Game Rap Ever!!!! - Shizzy Sixx

Yeah, my biggest gripe with the whole thing honestly. Made me think it was probably reuploaded by some twat looking for easy hits, but nah.

Unfortunately if you want to get recognized for your work on a place like YouTube a little hyperbole goes a long way. At least in this case it's actually pretty damn good.

Impressive :)

This compliment comes from a metal head that enjoys Lamb of God and Threat Signal daily :) haha

Now you've got something to die for!~

Rap tunes these days only appeal to me when the lyrics are funny, when it takes itself too seriously it kinda bores me.

example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5VmyrHNEmFI Funny halo 2 rap.

Also, it makes me cringe when descriptions say "share this to everyone you know, they need to see this etc etc", if it's good it will spread eventually.

I wish that were true, but it's really not the case a lot of the time. There's some amazing stuff out there that has no views, and horrible stuff that has tons. Marketing is a multi-billion dollar industry for a reason.

My favourite:

Megaman 2 rap

A sample:

Look up in the sky ItÂ’s a bird ItÂ’s a plane
ItÂ’s air man, bitch and IÂ’m bringinÂ’ the pain
I got a fan installed In my grill no lie
IÂ’m gonna blow your ass straight off the map goodbye

Thank you for setting these heathens straight. Duane and Brando are legendary, and Megaman 2 literally blew my face off the first time I had the privelege of listening to it.

Very very nice, incorporated both well known and obscure games as well into it and that ending and the Falco line were among my favorites within it. Feels good to have played most of those games as well as recognizing the ones i haven't played yet lol.

Clicked the video in the OP, heard the first punchline, cringed, and backed out.

I don't think there's any possible method to creating a rap song about video games without it being very corny.

I have like zero interest in rap/hip hop, but I have to say ,I enjoyed that quite a bit. Good job representing all types of games on all different consoles

Extra credit for the shout out to my girl Nariko.

Wow, this song really has no cohesion whatsoever. It's all "Here's a rapid fire list of games I like with maybe a quick line or stanza about it". That's one of the laziest ways to write a song (lazier ways include "the same thing but using somebody else's song as a base, changing the lyrics, and calling it a "nerd parody"; and having somebody else write your song), and I feel that doing this lacks a lot of soul.

A good nerd rap tells its own story, like Fett's Vette. That dropped references all over the place, but it had a singular core story to tell (even if it was based on an incredibly overdone trope in rap, the whole "my life was hard, but now I'm the best" meme).

Anyway, this one does get pretty decent when it actually focuses a little bit on individual games (and the melody shifts a bit), but it's really really ADD in general. And he dissed Luigi. In the year of Luigi!

Yeah, I'm probably being unfair to this song because Luigi is my man, and I can't see my man getting disrespected.

Best selling rap album of the '80's was Licensed to Ill by the Beastie Boys. If nine million records isn't mainstream, I don't know what is.

Yeah, sorry, I forgot about Beastie Boys. I never saw them as rap though. And I don't recall people making a big deal about them being white either, unlike Em. After Shady LP it was like every white boy who was into rap wanted to be a rapper.
